I know that they are bad to use in your ear because of the potential for puncturing your eardrum however I can't stand the feeling of water or wax in my ears right out of the shower. It's part of my post bathing ritual, I just can't help myself!

5. When I was in bootcamp I had a scab form on my eardrum, |
|
I guess my ear had been bleeding from all the damn yelling ( it was truly painful in some areas of the squadbay due to reflected sound ) and they had to get it off with lots of water pressure. That hurt like a mother, I thought they were about to blow the drum clean out when finally the scab broke free. And I could hear again.
Needless to say, there shall be NO super-soakering of my ears. Ever.

I twist a tissue up and then stick it in my ear. Q-tips are not good for your ears.

6. You can use them to clean the outer ear with no fear of harm. |
|
I use them to wipe away any traces remaining of mascara after I wash my face/shower, and I also use them to clean up mascara smudges just after I've put mascara on, and I after I put on eyeshadow, I go over it with a Q-tip to get off the seemingly inevitable excess.
