Coupla cute Japanese cars in Kumamoto

Believe it or not, this is a wide road. Most of the roads in the neighborhoods are one lane!

1. Nifty little van.
I saw a lot of these, different makes. Some were used for work, some used for family transport. These would sell in the US, especially in urban areas. Imagine these in Santa Monica or Manhattan.

There were a lot of vintage-style Minis in Kumamoto. The new ones were there, too, but the old ones stood out.

2. I would love one of those.
Why the Hell can't we have some sane practical cars/vans?

4. I kept saying that while I was there.
The small ones have yellow license plates, while larger autos have white plates. The small autos are taxed less. They are quite useful on the twisty one lane roads when you gotta squeeze around traffic. I took some video of our rides in the BIL's Honda. I suspect they might not meet the collision reqs, but I don't know that for sure.

There are scooters and bicycles everywhere.

They have the boxy Scion van, with a Toyota badge. It gets the white plates because it's comparatively large.

3. Is that a Toppo?

I used to see those a lot in Okinawa.

5. I could not keep up with the names.
There were so many! Some really unusual looking cars from Wills, and all sorts of models under the usual marques. I just could not look at the car names and the scenery at the same time.
