In the NY area we mostly find them in old apple orchards (the white ones) and under tulip threes (the black ones)

then follow into the hill country as the season progesses. Elm trees, Ash trees, fruit trees, may apples, stumps, fence rows, are all good places. Once I came upon what's called a fairy ring there were so many morels growing I had to leave with a full sack and many left unpicked, right out in the open on top of a hill.

Put a little bit of butter and garlic in a skillet and dredge the shroom in flour.
Come to think of it, I even used up the Baby Bellas this morning in the wild rice and chicken soup. I not only have no morels I have no SHROOMS!!!!
