1. Equal time for love ~

The big guy ~ Lord Byron is gone.
Lady Leigh will be celebrating her 10th birthday this April 18th.

45. You're Welcome...
They're our babies, that's for sure. I'm sorry that you lost Lord Byron. We've lost 3 of our own in the past 4 years and it was pure hell, but we got the girls right away and they really helped deal with losing the others. Here's a pic of my husband with our beloved ones we lost: Bocor is the rottie and the other two were Mac and Tosh.

46. I think Mac & Tosh are the cutest things!
Bocor looked like he was truly man's best friend.

Byron has been gone since 2001. He was my best friend for a little over 10 wonderful years. I've often wanted a Scotty but now I'm trying to decide which breed of dog would be safe around parrots. Most of the small dogs would pose a serious risk. I honestly don't know what I'll do when Leigh is gone. The house will be far too empty without her.

47. Mac and Tosh...
were great dogs, but high maintenance. They were both very intelligent, but Tosh could have an attitude when she wanted to! ha
We lost Bocor this past Sept. We'd had him almost 11 yrs. He was the most loyal, loving dog. When he looked at you it was if he was smiling at us. He was a pound puppy and when we adopted him we found out he had Parvo. The vet gave us a 50/50% chance of survival, but we nursed him back to health. About 6 mos. later when noticed him bunny hopping while running in the back yard. Had him checked and sure enough hip displasia(sp) in both hips. He had hip replacement on both and 3 metal plated inserted on both sides. He was good as new until this past year arthritis settled in and one of the plates broke. The vet said he would be really hard on him to go thru another surgery, so we waited until it was no longer fair for him to suffer and we didn't want to be selfish to keep him alive just for our sake. His death was by far the hardest...but, we moved recently and the Pins love our new place and we've adopted 2 barn cats...Frick and Frack. Never thought we'd be cat lovers, but they've stole our hearts too! :)

37. Thanks! I guess you can say I designed it.
It's probably more accurate to say it evolved into its current state. It's been a work in progress for about 10 years and I'd say it's pretty much done since I've run out of space!

24. My babies -

She's 8 months now so a lot bigger, but this the only pic I have on the 'puter! Isn't she cute??

The one on the right weighs in between 150-160 lbs and can lay his head down on the kitchen table. Which he will, of course, attempt to do if food is left unguarded! LOL.

The one on the left is a border collie mix.

31. My foster doggie, Dewey, who I just adopted. He is 11 years old.
Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 01:08 PM by RebelOne

He was on his way to the pound when I fostered him from a rescue group. His family was moving to Florida and didn't have any permanent housing, so they were going to take him to the animal shelter. I knew he would be put down because of his age.

I have a Rottie, but as soon as I load the software for the digital camera onto my computer and figure out how to use the camera, I'll post a photo of her.

This is my Great Dane (I think that there's a little pointer in there, too):

Big Sexy, because whenever we go somewhere, the girls all run up wanting to pet him. Sadly, they have no desire to pet me. He was thrown away twice (once at animal services, once at the humane society). He came in while I was volunteering, and I adopted him that night.
