Intense might be a decent description. I like to try and be light hearted and a joker, but it's almost impossible as people always take me so seriously. Would you believe i am actually smiling in that pic?

I have had people tell me when i look at them i make them nervous. They say it's like i'm looking right through them, add my ice blue eyes and some find it disturbing.

Yes having me pissed at you is not good. But in all honesty it takes a lot to make me mad. You basically have to mess with my women or my kids.

The look was developed from my time as a criminal, being in prison, and my work as a semi pro fighter, and pro wrestler. I just can't seem to shake it.

It is gorgeous. A lot more mountainous than the Anchorage area. I live on the side of Deer Mountain and the pacific is at my feet. It is quite different than either Juneau or Sitka...although Sitka is pretty close to the look and feel of Ketchikan. I can be out of town within minutes. We are actually in the same gardening zone as Seattle! Currently we are in the mid thirties right now and the slush has turned to rain.

I watch the evening news out of Anchorage and nothing of Alaska exists below Juneau :grr: This is a place you have got to experience to believe!

We are the the land of big trees! Rain foresty is putting it mildly. We received almost 196 inches of rain in 2005.

Funny thing is, you are the first person to say anything about the crash and I have posted about it in a couple of threads. We often think that if we all got wiped out (13,000 people), we would only make a small back story in the national news.

Which is a great lens, but can only go as wide as 32 mm because I shoot with a 10D and I have that 1.6 crop factor.

But my next investment is going to be a Canon 5D which has the full frame -- probably the only thing I miss from shooting film.

Even though I'll lose the "long lens advantage" of the 10D; when I put the 100-400 zoom on with the 2X teleconverter, I have an effective 1320mm lens, and the anti-vibration business means I can even hand-hold it (though just barely).

But even with all this digital stuff (which I've been doing since 1994 with an Apple QuickTake), it's still good to haul out the Century Graphic once in a while...there's still nothing like those two-by-three inch Velvia transparencies to get the old heart a-fluttering.

I've been meaning to get a second body anyway. So I would put the 24-70 on the 5D and keep my 70-200 (with or without my 1.4x converter) on the 10D.

But I know once I start using the 5D, it's going to be hard to use the 10D so in a perfect world, I would buy two 5Ds.

Also, I had to include this one because it's just too funny to me not to post. This is how my brother, sister and myself always take pictures with each other. The first one is always a pic of myself and my brother trying to take a serious picture with our sister. Our sister is usually caught in the first pic with the devil eyes because she's about to do something to make us look like a couple of jackasses in the pic. Her method usually involves pinching a butt or two, elbow to the balls, or just a swift kick to the back of the leg above the knee. The second one is always a pic of my brother and I trying to hold her down and get the serious pic that my mom can put in her album and show to her sisters endlessly. She never gets that pic.

This is the second pic, the first will not be shown because she succeeded once again to make us look like idiots.
