11. Hey WIMR!
I noted your great posts the other day in GD. I felt some pride about the young folks here at DU. Now I see you are a jazz fan and that explains a lot. Jazz make you use your brain in humanistic and wonderful ways. Or maybe you have to have a certain level of brain activity to appreciate jazz? Either way, you continue to impress. So here we are with (the great) progmom. Not a surprise.:hi:

9. Hi progmom!
Some Gary Burton perhaps.

Chega de Saudade (he recorded it twice, either one is good) or "I Want You" the Dylan song. I see you got vibes going already. We talked about Dylan jazz covers when you played Madeline Peyroux a couple of weeks ago. I could hear more of that too.

Thank you my dear. :loveya:

16. Serious jazz trivia question.
There was a Coltrane Quartet recording of "Dear Old Stockholm" on an Impulse! sampler early sixties. It was not released (to my knowledge) on CD. Could you track that down? McCoy was on piano.

25. Then I hope you've heard the Monk/Coltrane Carnegie concert.
The discovery of those tapes after fifty years qualifies as a miracle. It's a recording that immediately plunked itself down on every essential jazz list. It's historic and reveals facets of those musicians not present on their other repertoire. in short, it's mind blowing.
