Trying to finish a book, write a 3-5 page paper on it, finish at least 1.5 pages on another paper, do 75+ pages of polysci reading, and look over four maps of Europe for a geography quiz. *sigh*

Bought some books from qpb.com....the Quality Paperback Book club.

I bought:

"The Ha-Ha" by Dave King, a novel I've wanted to read for some time...

"You: A Owners Manual"

And..."A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey...yes, the book and author Oprah berated on her show the other day. What the hey, I still want to read it..factual "inconsistencies" and all. :-)

26. Well.. Fixing this ugly piece of Ruby code I wrote the other day..
http://sleepingontheporch.com/sig/sig.rb I can cut out half of that crap. And get it to use multiple images and have the size work automagically.

And I would like to have Cron properly run it.. I don't see that happening today.

And, Ruby is the most beautiful language.

38. I hate Perl...
And Perl > COBAL

Python Rocks..

I still want to make babies with Ruby.. I fucking love Ruby.. Really, it is that good. And I now hate Ruby on Rails. Ruby is perfection. Rails is shit. Not the shit.. Just, shit.

39. Agreed-- I used to teach Perl, back in the day
I tought it as part of a web programming class, along with JavaScript (which I like, just for sheer simplicity). Perl isn't just a language, though-- it's more of a cult, IMHO.

I haven't played with Ruby enough, but I do like Python. Unfortunately, most of my current job is devoted to M$ stuff (and a custom scripting language used by our CMS vendor), but one of these days I'll dive into it.

36. Today...
I was up early to work out. After that, I went to get my hair cut (and now I love my hair again). After the haircut, we took a family outing to the grocery store, then dropped my oldest off at work, then went out for a late lunch.

Now? I'm goofing off. Later, I'll reorganize the pantry for all the stuff I bought this morning, then maybe a nap. Later later, I'm making appetizers and finger foods to graze on for supper, we'll bathe the kids and put them to bed, then my husband and I will probably watch a little TV and then shoot darts.

Junk - meh, although a couple of nice set-pieces
Wild Zero - very rough around the edges, but huge fun

Versus shits on both of them though.

Now I'm going to read DU / surf the net too late, whilst listening to BBC radio programming for insomniacs.
