I'm the proud new owner of a 20" iMac Core Duo, ask me anything! |
|
Holy crap is it fast. :wow: (Of course I upgraded from a Rev. C iMac G3, so a Mini would probably be blazing fast to me)
I also got a 30GB video iPod and have been putting anime on it all day. :D

Never in a million years did I ever think I'd own a Mac with an Intel brain. :o

I just ordered a MacBook Pro.. What a lame fucking name they picked. Have you used Photoshop on the iMac yet? I'm curious about performance under Rosetta.

Unfortunately the version of PS I have is pre-OSX and thus won't run (no Classic environment on these). I'm not a graphics pro so I'm in no rush to upgrade (I just use it to make icons and whatnot for Livejournal). However, I've heard reports that with the stock amount of RAM, there's beachballs. From what I understand, it's usable but if you rely on it to make your living you might be in for a headache until there's a Universal version ready.
And yar, MacBook Pro is a pretty lame name. But then again, I thought "iPod" was a lame name for an mp3 player. I think maybe I should stay away from marketing as a career.

4. YES another yaoi fan on DU |

That's like, five of us now. :D
First thing to go on was FF Advent Children, I also have Fake on it (a great shounen-ai OVA if you haven't seen it), a "best of" my favorite Shoujo Kakumei Utena episodes, Hellsing, and Azumanga Daioh. I'm also converting my Full Metal Alchemist fansubs that I downloaded ages ago and never watched, so I can finally be the last person in fandom to watch it.
...and you've reminded me I need to put Yami no Matsuei on it. :D

is the macbook as stable as the powerbook or ibook G4. Or does it behave like a Windows computer, you know blue screen here blue screen there, out of system resources, error contact system administrator.
I don't want to know what you think of it now, I want to know what you'll think of it next month.

You do realize that these things run Tiger, right?
Aside from the Intel chip set and the much nicer GPU, this is essentially the same iMac as the G5 iSights.

but I am worried about the conversion to Intel causing Mac's to seem more like PC's. I really just need to go to the nearest Apple store and play with one for a while.
