If I work over 40 hours, I am getting that around every 3. I try to think of that when I am working overtime so I don't hate it so much.

Edited on Sat Jan-28-06 06:00 PM by DanCa
I can clean five dollars out there during the week, and up to ten dollars on the weekends. At least until someone sicks the mall cops on me.

25. But when you mention the hourly rate to people, you can just hear the
gears grinding in their heads, can't you, as they multiply the figure by 40, then by 52, and assume that you're just rolling in it...I'm lucky to get 30 billable hours out of an average week. Overhead and administration, and all that. And answering emails, and sorting out equipment stuff.

And then there's the fact that I spend one day each week doing pro bono work for charitiable organizations.

I almost never quote a customer the hourly rate; I just quote them for the project; otherwise they'll start mentally comparing my hourly rate with their own salary, not factoring in notion that I have to pay $1800 per month for health insurance, and so on...

Ah, well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be called work, would it?

Under the spin-tyrant the US dollar is sinking in value so fast they should rename or currency Titanic! For a buck I'd go to a Peace march in March, if I had a little company.
