1. Dane Cook sucks ass, and not just on this show.
I don't care how many fucking albums he sells.

4. I'm glad someone else has noticed this
How this unfunny fucker has a career in comedy is a complete mystery to me

6. Yep, noticed it the first time I saw him.
He was on TV, and all the teenybopper girls were screaming for him and laughing at his crappy jokes.

Of course, you can be not so good-looking and still have a career in comedy nowadays (David Cross and Patton Oswalt, for example), but that requires actual talent.

27. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's "out of it."
When I read the music headlines and hear the names of today's "popular" artists...I just feel OLD.

7. it's almost bad enough to make me go across the room and get the remote
now THAT'S bad!

I've never seen that guy before. When he first started, I thought it was great that the monologue was actually a comedy act again instead of some lame celebrity skit like it usually is lately. Then, he started to say stuff. Not so great.

That should tell you something.

13. I've tried
I swear the audience is clapping out of sympathy or just because they get to sit where there was once a funny show. Several of them really-several different casts.

The fake news isn't even funny. I know people here love their slams on W and such but when they have to laugh at their own jokes it is pretty bad.

Horrible

Like Dennis Miller had.

And where is he now?

14. SNL sucks anyway
though i think dane cook does great standup. And before the inevitable comments about my sense of humor, i also like david cross, richard pryor, george carlin, etc, etc.

19. That was the first SNL I ever watched in my life that when they said
the host's name I said "Who??" out loud in my living room. I've thought the show was bad for years and hardly ever watch it, but at least I usually know who the host is!

20. Yeah, same here. We NEVER watch regularly anymore, but this
last Sat. nite, we found ourselves awake, so we turned on the TV hoping to be amused. Neither of us had ever heard of Dane Cook before, so we just assumed we were totally lame.

turns out it was HIM that was lame. :eyes:

admittedly though, next week's lineup sounds good with Steve Martin hosting and Prince as the musical guest.

25. I just did some Googling.
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 03:05 PM by lpbk2713

I just found out why Steve Martin and Prince will be guests. SNL needs all the help they can get.

This episode will be airing on sweeps week. The first week in February and the first week in November are used to make a lot of ratings counts. All shows will be trying their best during this period, except for the ones that have already been told they have been cancelled.

And that explains why CBS is starting the next Survivor series this weekend, among other things.

I think I cracked a smile. Once. But that might have been gas.
