I swear to God, I just cannot for the life of me see the attractiveness of
Angelina Jolie. I know there are DUers that find her attractive, but she just looks like a snake about to strike to me. There was another actress from the forties that had that very same, "I WILL get exactly what I want" look on her face, but I can't remember who it was.

Some of the Victoria's Secrets models are going for that same "I will put this spiked heel of my sandal through your heart" look too----

Mean looking women representing a mean society---yuk.

Just as many women like bad boys. At least I do.

but they are the BIGGEST pain in the ass!

I think Michael used to be a bad boy! He's still cute, but definetly not a pain in the ass!

20. LOL. When I was young, I was addicted to bad boys.
I used to run downstairs in the morning and grab the paper before my dad could see which one of the current crop was in the police blotter.

I ended up married to the straightest arrow on the planet. Probably the only person in my generation who didn't smoke pot.

Who knew? I did outgrow my bad boy thing, but there is one I think about once in a while.

>Probably the only person in my generation who didn't smoke pot.<

I've never smoked anything. I've never used an illicit substance, either. :boring:

In the meantime, bad boys never did it for me. I was always into overgrown Boy Scouts. This explains why I married DH and why I have The Thing That Won't Die for Patrick Fitzgerald .

65. Isn't it funny?
Now that I have a teenaged girl, if she was attracted to the same sort I was I would have a fit.

But, interestingly, the man I married is a lot like my dad, real down to earth, devoted, hard worker, always putting his family first.

I don't think I would have ever been with a bad boy for good. I am too materialistic.

5. Now you've intrigued me.
I'm dying to find out who that actress from the '40s was! It's funny how that image thing works.

But you are entitled to find one person scary and another lovely. It's part of what makes the world go around.

What you wrote reminds me of something I thought at work one day. We were offering a DVD of the movie All the Right Moves. If you look at the box, Tom Cruise DOES NOT look like anything other than an awkward, clueless, listless boy. He has the dumbest expression on his face. It makes you wonder if the box design people weren't fans and wanted to present him in the worst possible light!

7. I don't think you can be "mean" if you're a UN Goodwill Ambassador.
I'm just sayin'.

I think her real life work makes her a lot prettier than some other actresses.

I don't think she looks "mean" at all, but I definitely understand the "I WILL get what I want" look. That's her unique selling point for her job. Some of the actresses do the cutesy thing, that's not her thing.
If people want cutesy, they can call Meg Ryan.

If you're saying that's the hot look now, the "I'll stab you with a stiletto" gaze, I can get with that. I think it's supposed to look sexy or in control....but you're right, sometimes it can just look mean and condescending.

orphanages---adopts a couple of kids. Groovy. If I had that kind of money, I could do that too---it's probably not too hard to be a generous kazillionaire, you know?

Sorry, the multiple marriage thing, the affair with a married man, and the pregnancy before the partner was FULLY divorced is a turn off to me. My opinion on a celebrity is just that---an opinion on a celebrity. I think she looks cold and weird.

She uses her money and celebrity well to emphasize the plight of certain poor people in the world...no one could possibly argue that.

It is HER fault that Brad Pitt left his wife? Exactly what promises did Angelina Jolie make to Jennifer Aniston? And since you know them all so well and understand the details of what went on behind the scenes, could you explain what Aniston meant a couple of years ago when she was asked if Brad was the man for her forever when she responded, "Forever is a long time."

Nobody here knows what went on with those people and it some really BIZARRE shit to even pretend that you do. Or to want to. Or to think about it as much as WE ALL are.

which is all about clones, and trying to fit in, and be part of whatever the trend of the moment is. She is a distinct and original personalit who does what she wants how she wants.

She has a conscience, she is intelligent, she speaks out for what she believes in , which are some very good things.

And she is extremely beautiful, to me, also in a unique way, but then, true beauty is unique.

59. afraid of strong women?
I was a paramedic firefighter...and the FIRST woman on a rural fire department-

Yeah--umm---they terrify me. Don't question it. Just let me suffer my weird affliction for thinking Angelina Jolie sucks, OK?

71. your gender has nothing to do with your reaction here
" she just looks like a snake about to strike to me."

" There was another actress from the forties that had that very same, "I WILL get exactly what I want" look on her face, "

"Mean looking women representing a mean society"

It sounds like you find powerful women frightening. I know it's just your opinion, but it's on your opinion I was commenting.

63. You wanna see a mean looking woman?

Mrs. Donald Trump. She looks positively venomous 100% of the time.

Not my idea of beautiful.

68. I think she's absolutely beautiful
With a warm, genuine smile and great eyes (with some laugh wrinkles - I like that). We are all entitled to our opinion, of course - mine is that she's one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood as well as intelligent, compassionate and committed to helping others.

What's not to like?

69. I think she's great looking, and she has done many good works.
Judging her solely on the latter, I'd say she's beautiful inside and out.

In the first image, I think she looks noble and feirce, not mean.

73. Let's look on the inside for a moment
She is absolutely magnificent. stunning.

I give props to any woman, especially one of her caliber, who adopts tossed aside children and give them another shake at life.

And I find her just as beautiful on the outside.

She has many exceptual, exotic features.

I can't understand why people keep ragging on her.

77. Seems like an awfully mean thing to say about a person
Mean posters representing a mean society--yuk.

I can understand not liking her looks or her respecting her talent--such things are subjective--but to judge her personality based on her looks just seems, well, mean.
