NEW WAY to get rid of split ends!!! Guaranteed (but not recommended) |
|
instantly...
:eyes:
the fire in the soapstone fireplace had been out of four hours so i thought a little lighter fluid tossed in with the fresh logs might kick start it without having to resort to getting kindling.....
:dunce:
wow. the fireball that came roaring outta that sucker was like a hollywood special effect! i rolled backwards but still lost all the little hairs in my nose, on my hands and my eyelashes are about halflength.... scared hubby half to death - he dropped his video game controller and came tearing into the room....
oops?
i still smell smokey (my long hair got trimmed as well) but DAMN i feel so stupid... and LUCKY.
and there was absolutely NO ALCOHOL involved... til now! Be still my heart...

I needed that....
it feels funny to have no little hairs on my face.... except what's left of my eyebrows!
not my brightest move...
sigh.

at least once a week I see someone in the emergency room with burns from dousing fires with gasoline.
Please folks, don't try this at home

8. Jesus God, that was astonishingly dumb. |
|
I say that in admiration, because I've done some spectacularly stupid things in my life, with much worse (and more permanent) consequences, but putting lighter fluid in a woodstove?
That trumps all.
Don't do that again, OK? We'd miss you around here if you blew yourself up.

9. I had a similar experience |
|
when I was in high school. The logs were wet so I doused them with Coleman Lantern fuel (I think this stuff has the same octane as aviation fuel). I got a nice fireball and burned most of the hair off my arms. Thankfully I was wearing jeans or it could have been worse. Scared the hell out of me.

I'm glad you're okay! (I once singed my hair with a cigarette lighter - seems awfully tame now!)
