The cats and the dog are conspiring against me
Tonight I was preparing dinner while on the phone with my mother. I took the chicken out of the fridge and, per usual, the feline and canine audience were in attendance, looking for any sign that I may drop dead and release the coveted bird from my grip.

Their attention waned when I began chopping onions, while waiting for the oven to preheat. One of my kitties left the room, and the other (Spike) began grooming the dog (Cliff). All of the sudden, I heard a deafening crash from upstairs, hung up with my mother, and went to check on it. Kitty #1 (Nero)had managed to push a glass jar off of my vanity table in my bedroom. I quickly cleaned up the glass so it wouldn't get in his little paws, but he had already booked it downstairs.

When I returned to the kitchen, the raw chicken was on the floor, and both cats were pawing and licking it while Cliff looked on. I shrieked and they scattered. Do you think they planned a distraction to lure me upstairs so they could have their way with the roast chicken? Are animals really that smart?

And you have a cat named Spike! Me too. The dog named her.

4. My husband and 'the boys' make me the only female
in the household. Our household is ruled by Nero, our macho kitty. Spike and Cliff defer ti his power! ;-)

Larry and flea taxi during one of their daily strategy meetings.

That move is in their playbook. Distract the human and pillage the food.I'm surprised you fell for it!
