Well, I just took an Ambien, so I probably shouldn't
post any more tonight, or I might start talking about the, the, what was it, oh yes, the Gazartanians who are surounding my house and waving their fortenhadens all around so I'll have a, a, well a something that I'm damned annoyed about, or would be if I could remember what it was, whatever it was that, goddammit, the COMMIES.

And you know you better, all of you, look out for that, and I mean it. I wouldn't be telling you this if I didn't care for you. Whoever you are. As long as you're not COMMIES or something like...........................................angenblaten...............zars.

Wimbolt. Just remember that.

Your friend, I always sign my name, it's: carmine, or actually more of rubine, but definitely not ochre because that's too dark to properly be called that color, uh...the second half of my name, what wasit...I know: Rock-type thingie, you know, the little ones get in your shoe and iritate the hell out of your foot, one of those. And it's red.

That's me. I think. What do you think?

4. Well, then I guess you can disregard my relatively rational post
in your thread about twitches, the same of which I'm not going to be having any soon, and if I do, it won't make a damn bit of difference because I'll be comatose, or something enough like it as won't make any difference...

39, you say? 39? How the hell did you find that out? Who told you? It was the COMMIES, wasn't it, even though you weren't evn there that first time in Cambridge...or were you? I thought it was just LynnZ and me and a select few others involved in that, but god damn on a tricycle, there MUST have been others, and you among them? I'd never have guessed.

But since you have the number, you know what that makes you, don't you? It makes you a hot number, which the Sniffas seem to have figured out all on their own, but the word's going to get out now, so bring bodyguards the next tme.

You'll need them. Old goats around here, you know...mumble, grumble...pretty young women...mumble...hands off, dammit....grumble....

8. She was, indeed, *not* there...
You're right that it was only a certain few someones, and you know the ones it was, don't you, still, or have you already forgotten? Because if you forget and rely on me to the be the only one who remembers, who knows what, and to keep track of all of the items of clothing previously discussed, and the numerous dudes who chose to get involved, well, we know my track record of remembering those things, and good does not describe it. And now to know that the commies are involving other, others of whom we had no inkling before this time, maybe it's not just the commies, but maybe they've brought in others, the Ukranians or the Polish or god knows who this time, as long as it's not the French, but now maybe we know it could be the French, seeing as who's involved.... Sigh.

13. Wait one, please. .I've gotta go grab a cig & a beer to prepare me for
this undeniably shocking news...I'm right about something? What'll I do now, given that this is kind of, actually, it's definitely some new territory for me to attempt to cross, and without one single porter or half-tracked vehicle at that; but yes, I think I remember the other ones, and a raggedy lot they were, indeed, but the best we could whistle up on short notice, thanks in no small part to your recruiting skills, or was it the picture you posted that once that was lacking only a whip and a pair of padded handcuffs to put you right in the Hall of Depraved Fame, and there were more than a few who saw that picture and wondered where you'd gotten THOSE from, and I don't mean handcuffs since you didn't have any anyway, so the wolf-whistle chorus must have been in appreciation of a couple of something elses, not that I myself would have noticed or much less remembered...and yes, I do give you eternal credit for your track record, which is lost to the mists of time but was a damn good one, and I'll tell that to anyone who asks, as long as I'm able to understand their question, which I frequently don't, which is not hardly a big secret either. And if the COMMIES are involving others, at least we know who they're NOT getting to (besides the two of us and that Brer Rarius character; we know he's safe because he's too elegant and handsome character for them to be able to stand, preferring as they do to deal with the weaselly ones, and HEY that also explains why we were way off base with the girl as well. The other one, too.

Well, it's hard to be perfect. All we can do is to keep trying, yes?

17. Did you get the cig and beer?
You'll have to watch out for those cigs, that they're the right ones and not the other ones, unless perhaps it's the other ones you're wanting, and given your state, it just might be, and not that a single soul could fault you for that, but that would indeed help you to cope with being right, and might even let you enjoy it. As for my recruiting skills, and your insinuation that it was my skills that might have aided in the recruiting, I'll have you know that I don't use those skills lightly, but they have come in handy a time or two, for such things as you imply, or such things as relate to free parking at the beach, or other such random things, but never to be taken lightly, on no, unless one wishes to also tangle with the good bit of snark and evil eye that are also skills, though perhaps more often employed. And I'll agree with you that the commies prefer the weaselly characters, given as they are and all to levels of debasement and treachery that only weaselly ones can approve of, or even be involved in, without serious repercussions to their ability to sleep at night, or indeed to absolve themselves, but the weaselly ones don't even seem to need to sleep or be absolved, and given that, and their tendency to flapping about with words a bit too loosely, we should keep an eye out for them. And for the dude, of course, since as of yet I have still to learn the whereabouts of the shirt, and until I know that.... well, you know how it goes. Keep your eyes and ears open for me, would you?

odd, the COMMIES wouldn'nt dammit I can't remember where the apostrophe goes, slide somethingggggg into my Rolling Rock, you think? Or do you?

They might. Hey, can we talk about this in a couple of days? I'm going to be buissssssssssssssssssssssssssssssy, you know. But eyes 'n' ears open all the while, look Mom, I'm not sleepy, see how wide open my eyes are?

Commies. Feh. If they only knew how right you are about them.

7. Thanks, CalPeg, I try. The Ambien hasn't REALLY kicked in yet,
I just get these fits (you've seen several) where my brain just kind of falls out through my fingers...

And I see you're catching on to the style, and it's not a bad attempt, not at all, and shows me that you've probably been diligently, or perhaps just with a slacker's attitude but superior intellect to make up for that slacker lack of attention to detail, but with the intellect, as I said, compensating for or maybe even being the superior component of your shocking new study system, thereby obsoleting everything we've ever known, or thought we did, about how to get the little bastids to pay attention in school, times tables be damned, it's the NEW MATH, which should be a breeze for anyone to pick up and do with it whatever the hell it's supposed to be good for, which can't be much because when was the last time you saw a store clerk who was able to give you CHANGE, a simple dumb thing like change for a five when you'd bought $3.29 worth of stuff (and I'm not going to get into exactly what that stuff you bought might have been, because I've sworn to help keep your reputation unsullied, and I never go back on my word, at least as long as I can remember what it was in the first place, but there's one thing that I DO remember, and it's that you're on to something here.

And when I remember what that something is, I might buy some of it from you. You never know.

9. No, my friend, it's not a copycat. It's just (as you may have read above)
Edited on Sun Jan-29-06 11:08 PM by Redstone
a state that I get into now and again where my brains fall out of my fingers while I'm typing.

Seriously, if you have trouble sleeping, Ambien isn't bad. As long as you don't use it every night for an extended period; I've heard people say they get a serious case of the heebie-jeebies when they do that.

I use it now and again (figure an average of three times a month) as a "backstop" for when the pain gets so bad that all I want to do is to shut off the day so I can start again in the
morning.

Oh, and yes, there have been a number of times when people (including me) have "posted on Ambien" around here. See, you're supposed to go to bed right after you take it, so you can drift off to dreamland. But if you stay up and keep moving around (or posting at DU), you can go into a kind of zombie state in which you can interact with other people (read and sort of type messages), but you're actually asleep while you're doing it!

Really. "Posting on ambien" does happen. But if you need some - use it right, and you won't have that problem.

I trust things are getting at least a little better for you down South? Dunno about anyone else, but I'd appreciate a quick note now and again to let us know how you're dong with your personal recovery and that of your community.

We haven't forgotten you.

items in your "my posts" list that you could not remember, no matter how hard you tried.

Right?

15. Well, yes, I've done that, but, no, that's not what I'm talking about.
I was sitting at my keyboard and had typed up a response, considering whether I wanted to edit it or not. The cursor was over the 'Post Message' button, my finger was over the mousepad; drifted off for about five seconds, when I snapped awake, there was the post. I was only asleep for about 4-5 seconds, but technically I was "asleep when I posted."

16. Please be careful, my friend.....Ambien is mild, but mixed with alcohol
it can be very nasty. Its best to take it and go to bed, ready to sleep. Staying up on Ambien is not wise. Regardless, I wish you the best.

18. Thanks for your concern. We Chronic Pain people tend to be able to
shrug off drugs like painkillers and sleep aids, but I promise you that I do NOT push the envelope despite that.

As you can tell, here I am, still awake and rational (or as rational as I ever am), which is not supposed to be what happens with Ambien, but sometimes is the casse if the pain burns through it.

Trust me, I'm not going to go start drinking to give it a boost. I'm going to sign off DU and read a book for a while, and if that doesn't do it, I'll go into my office and do some work. There's always plenty of that to keep me occupied.

Thanks again for the concern and advice.

comes to "visit" when your sleep. Has it visited you? I think it would freak the hell outa me, if I saw somethin' like that. heheh.

Seriously, what do you think of it? You need a doc's prescription, right?

I usually take melatonin at night as a sleep aid, sometimes I resort to Sominex.
