Who here sails?
I mean actually sails? Understands what it is to sail, that kind of thing. I'm in a sentimental mood about it, cause I was supposed to go do some things to my Dad's boat for him today and maybe take it out, but the rain stopped me.
I once did a two week sail training voyage on this gorgeous creature.

I really should do something like that again. It was magical. Nothing beats being in the open ocean at sunset, with a stiff breeze and some big rollers, an orange glow across the ship because there's foul weather ahead and the sun is illuminating the clouds. Man, I miss that, the ease before the real work had to be done. The sun plays all kinds of tricks with shadows on a vessel like that because of the riggings and what not.

sigh...

1. I used to sail on Lake Superior.
It's been years, but it was great fun -- hope to be able to take it up again some day.

3. id like to learn someday
I've learned that theres a whole lifestyle out there where people live on sailboats and travel everywhere. Sounds like a good idea if WW3 ever breaks out.

11. Me! I love sailing.
And, yes, today's rain would pretty much make a trip to the marina unnecessary.

30. Learned to sail when I was ten
Mostly lake sailing in Sunfishs. I also sailed Hobie cats, and small sloops. We have an 18'foot sloop on Chesapeake Bay.

Nothing like it if you have a good breeze.
