If DU inspired a movie, what genre would it be, plot, etc?

Would the lounge get a nod in it? What would the plot center around (some activists who get together and change the world and stop a diabolical mad man from destroying it?).

And would I at least get a bit part somewhere...

6. It would be a "coming together" movie.

Several of us would be set to meet somewhere for a "get together". The movie would show a little bit about each of us as we are preparing to leave. Then it would show our journeys and the adventures or problems we encountered. It would be a little bit drama, some suspense, a lot of comedy, and some horror to spice it up.

As we near the end of the movie skinner gets bitten by a rethug vampire and becomes 'skin-head' and changes du to ru. Kind of like an anakin skywalker->vader thing as well. In the end though he saves himself and us as the rebellion (Loungers) fight against the evil empire...

Serious political documentaries to represent GD, goofy comedies and character driven movies to represent the lounge, etc.

8. It would be an action/adventure flick.

The Lounge would be called upon by an outside power to clear the name of GD from charges of slander and corruption. The frame-up would be airtight. GD is caught red-lettered with a smoking keyboard posting pro-Fred Phelps propaganda. Half the world believes the charges, the other half are undecided. So the Lounge begins its investigation, wandering through forum after forum, first visiting GLBT, who is in an uproar, but who did notice something suspicious in the Texas forum. In Texas, Lounge is directed to the Guns forum, where they are roughed up, and must resort to repeated use of the Brazillian joke to defend itself. But Guns provides a clue--there are non-DUers hiding amongst the regulars in Guns, and the real DUers point them out.

The fakers flee, rushing through several state forums, just moments ahead of Lounge, often laying fiery traps which the Loungers have to avoid using superior cunning and really bad puns. At one time, in Kansas, Lounge is again in mortal peril, and only escapes by creating a diversion with copycat threads. But again the fakers must flee, this time leaving the states for the Sports forum.

In Sports, they disguise themselves as Patriot fans, and thus gain temporary shelter from unwitting New Englanders desparate for any kind words for their downtrodden team. But the respite is only temporary, as one of the fakers slips up and admits he doesn't how many Super Bowls New England has actually won in the past four years. Again the fakers flee.

The climax occurs in the literary forum, where the tight clique recognizes the outsiders at once and traps them into a fictionalized tale of the very story they are in fact participating in. As the fakers get caught in a literary spiral, twisting down and down into the grey abyss of a Borgesian plot twist, they finally admit that they are the true culprits, that they have planted the Fred Phelps propoganda. But is it too late? Will anyone even see the confession buried so deep in such an obscure forum?

Of course they will! The Straight Story (thought I'd forgotten you, didn't you?) posts a thread in the Lounge with the title "Bite Me, You Loser A55wipes!" and links the obscure thread of the spiraling confession in Literature. With such a title, every DUer must look, and the duplicity is revealed. GD is saved, and the Lounge is finally shown as the driving force of DU.

The movie will never sell, though. No sex threads.

I bet it would be alot like season five of Angel. Where the DU loungies get a shot at changing the white house from inside. Unfortunately the Demon Chimp will be running things untill the last episode. The very last scene will be when the chimp goes down but Coulter and Cheney open up the mouth of hell to get even with us. Note when the flying red dragon comes out of the hell mouth I got dibs on it.
