It's really not good for them, though from my experience it's not really bad, either. My mother's 17 year old cat drinks a lot of milk, and she can still leap on top of the counters with no effort.
But some cats don't like it. I have two that won't drink it. I don't know if it's a taste issue or a digestion issue or what. But it's not unusual for some cats to avoid it.
