evening earworm
You’ve got your mother in a whirl
She’s not sure if you’re a boy or a girl
Hey babe, your hair’s alright
Hey babe, let’s go out tonight
You like me, and I like it all
We like dancing and we look divine
You love bands when they’re playing hard
You want more and you want it fast
They put you down, they say I’m wrong
You tacky thing, you put them on

Rebel rebel, you’ve torn your dress
Rebel rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!

Don’t ya?
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo

You’ve got your mother in a whirl ’cause she’s
Not sure if you’re a boy or a girl
Hey babe, your hair’s alright
Hey babe, let’s stay out tonight
You like me, and I like it all
We like dancing and we look divine
You love bands when they’re playing hard
You want more and you want it fast
They put you down, they say I’m wrong
You tacky thing, you put them on

Rebel rebel, you’ve torn your dress
Rebel rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!

Don’t ya?
Oh?

Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo-doo doo doo doo doo

Rebel rebel, you’ve torn your dress
Rebel rebel, your face is a mess
Rebel rebel, how could they know?
Hot tramp, I love you so!

You’ve torn your dress, your face is a mess
You can’t get enough, but enough ain’t the test
You’ve got your transmission and your live wire
You got your cue line and a handful of ludes
You wanna be there when they count up the dudes
And I love your dress
You’re a juvenile success
Because your face is a mess
So how could they know?
I said, how could they know?

So what you wanna know
Calamity’s child, chi-chile, chi-chile
Where’d you wanna go?
What can I do for you? looks like you’ve been there too
’cause you’ve torn your dress

I also knew long cool woman, but due to the inability to search recently, it was too late to post to it. That was another good one!

so you know David Bowie who did this song and The Hollies who did long cool woman in a black dress. Did you know that Graham Nash played with The Hollies before he joined with David Crosby and Stephen Stills and later they were joined by Neil Young?

edited for typos

3. As I PM'd you earlier, I know nothing about music. I know
what I like, which is mostly rock and heavy metal from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's. The stuff that was POPULAR on ROCK stations. I don't know much else about music.

4. I usually like the songs you play for your threads
and somehow they always lead me to the deeper cuts that did NOT get as much airplay but, are by all means just AS good and sometimes better...

I also like other genres of music and therefore my earworms can be quite ecletic...sometimes I wish ya'll could actually hear the song, the melodies can be haunting or juanty, ironic or just stragiht up rock-n-roll...

5. Ah. The "deeper" and "eclectic" is what loses most people.
The majority is always only going to know the popular stuff. It will be the minority (and thus less responses to your posts) that knows the "deep" "eclectic" stuff...

6. I guess I am trying to see if the words themselves could
stand alone proving that the lyrics can be "pure" poetry...

I wonder how they "read" to someone who has never heard the song

can they feel the cadence? the imagery?

like with my Rainy days and Mondays

they liked it until they realized it was the Carpenters and then iwt was like...eewww GROSS

but to me it proved that it WAS a good song just got crapped on because the Carpenters were seen as uncool by the standard of the day...

at least I admitted to liking Neil Diamond even though it was a "guilty pleasure" for me cos I thought it was "uncool" (at the time) to like someone that my Mom liked.

Is this making any sense? or am I just rambling and need to get my dopey ass to bed?
