GD:Alito is simply, in your words, "fucking insane".
Seriously, did anyone really expect Bush to nominate decent Supreme Court justices? If so, I want some of what they're smoking.

but they probably expected/hoped for more of a fight out of the Dems. That kind of letdown after how high they'd pumped themselves up.... Well, the crash is going to suck probably for the rest of the week.

5. Yeah, this was a foregone conclusion. |

I STILL wish Kerry would have worked on those voting "irregularities" in Ohio after the 2004 election. IMHO his filibuster efforts were too little, too late.
Good to see you again, too! :hi:

12. Well...uh...he DID nominate poor, dear Harriet. |
|
And Harry Reid warmed up to her.
But, alas, we didn't even get a chance to see if her family members would run off-camera crying.

Thanks to Google, I see that it is Stealers Wheel.
I'll keep that in mind. I got another earworm right now, though:
"I'll learn to work the saxophone I'll play just what I feel Drink Scotch whiskey all night long And die behind the wheel They got a name for the winners in the world I want a name when I lose They call Alabama the Crimson Tide Call me Deacon Blues Deacon Blues..."
Fucking awesome Steely Dan song....

20. Yeah, I have high tolerance, too, and I'm having some issues tonight, but |
|
those folks have really lost their shit.
I mean, I sympathize...sort of...being someone who thought this was a long-shot at best. My rage isn't for the whole Party, but a few select individuals in it, and I'm still--I know where the GD crew is coming from, but--DUDE. They're going to give themselves a collective aneurysm.

26. Well, just because one leaves the Democratic party, |
|
doesn't mean they're quitters. Maybe they've just decided to work for their goals as independents. And really, if we all want to overthrow the junta, for instance, then it doesn't matter which party you're from, so long as you're trying to help.

and saw Level 6, I went into GD to see what was going on...my first thought after seeing some of the headlines was; "What have I walked into here?" Peoples heads were exploding, I swear! Now, they're all in meltdown mode. Some saying they don't want to be Democrats anymore, etc. Good gods.

i can see why they get so worked up. i'm not assuming anything but i don't know if some people realize how hard they work and get into these things. this is the most active i've been politically since 2004 Election Fraud investigations. First time I faxed Senators or anything remotely like that since then, and to work like that and follow thread after thread moment after moment in anticipation, it can be very disappointing whether you were prepared for it or not.
aside from that, there are just so many differing points of view among Democrats, or Progressives in general :(
i admit, i got prett;y worked up tonite too :(

33. i did my fair share of contacting Senators & was in GD for the vote |
|
But when people say they are quitting the Democratic party and not donating to the ONLY chance we have to stop the GOP, that pisses me off.
If people are so pissed off, maybe they should just log off for a while.
I understand the emotion, but I dont let the emotion control what I post.
