Why does this feel so appropriate? |
|
We starve, look at one another short of breath Walking proudly in our winter coats Wearing smells from laboratories Facing a dying nation of moving paper fantasy Listening for the new-told lies With supreme visions of lonely tunes
Somewhere, inside something, there is a rush of greatness Who knows what stands in front of our lives I fashion my future on films in space Silence tells me secretly everything, everything
Eyes, look your last Arms, take your last embrace And lips, oh you, the doors Of breath, seal with a righteous kiss Seal with a righteous kiss The rest is silence The rest is silence
Singing our space songs on a spider-web sitar Life is around you and in you Answer for Timothy Leary, dearie
Let the sunshine Let the sunshine in, the sunshine in
(Sorry, just a little angry now and looking for some sign of hope and Rado's song seem to fit.)

You're the right generation to remember this the first time around.
I thought of posting 3500 instead but thought the line "Prisoners in Niggertown, this is a dirty little war" might get me deleted for use of the N word. But blacks are statistically more likely to be poor, to end up in the military as their best option, as their only option if they want an education and a decent living wage. (And the contempt our brave men and women are treated with makes the N word appropriate - it's a contemtble word, but is useful to describe the way they've been treated.)
Peggy, I have hope but I sometimes think nothing has changed. But I will hold on to my hope. "Only hope breaks the chain".
I'm just feeling a little down.
Khash.

5. Not tonight, my very dear Peggy |
|
I just don't want to subject anyone I like to me now. I'm angry and weepy - and the pain's getting bad and I'm irritable (when that happens, I withdraw, I hate it and don't want anyone else to deal with it. I get nasty.)
Tomorrow?
