Do complete strangers ever tell you you're cute?
Honestly, it happened to me last night. I was at a client's house, cleaning his computer of viruses (virii??), and his neighbor walked in the door (45-ish, female, hot as the sun). She was obviously the friendly sort-- she looked me in the eye from across the room, smiled a beautiful smile, and said "You're CUTE!"

Well, I know I really am, but to have a stranger just up and yell it out-- WOWSERS. A pity her husband was next door, and her 5 year old daughter was standing at her side... :-(

Not to let it stay at that, she came over and HUGGED me!

I'm in love......

1. Yes,
I get "cute" quite a lot. Not "pretty," not "attractive," just "cute".

Gee, you think she was lonely? :-)

10. Cute is better than...
"you're a 'handsome woman'?" I never know how to take that one.

5. Yes it is. And it is always women would not have had ANYTHING
to do with me when I was single.

It is some kind of fascination with the unattainable.

14. All the DAMN time!
I get so frigging tired of having women pinch my cheeks and fuzz my hair while crooning "you are so damn cute and such a hottie I'd like to put you in my pocket and take you home with me." But, that is not half-as-bad as getting the same thing at the truck stops from long haul drivers!

20. yes
I think it's creepy but since I am a petite female I don't appreciate much being approached by strangers with any excuse. I'm afraid I take it to mean they wanna get laid and figure I'm an easy target.

In your case, since the woman's hubby and kid was about, I think it was a genuine compliment, so congratulations. :-)

That happens, on occasion. Older ladies also hug and kiss on me a lot, especially at Church or political functions; does that happen to anyone else here? :P

23. That's not as bad as the married women who pinch your ass
You're minding your own business in the check out line, and someone pinches your butt so low that it almost qualifies as a "reach around". You turn around hoping to see a knockout, and you do.....standing in line with her husband. Why can't a single woman molest me like that?

Yeah, right...

I've only been told I was cute online. I don't think a single person that i've met in real life has ever said I was cute.

27. It's sort of strange but...
I get comments similar to that quite frequently from men and women of all ages, ethnicities etc. I never get "cute" though. I'm always kind of shocked really in part because I grew up during the California blonde rage where only Christie Brinkley look a likes were considered beautiful. I have milky white skin and reddish brown hair. Also when I was a little girl I was not what most would consider a cute little girl I had very angular features not rounded babyface looks. In other words, compliments such as "Oh isn't she cute." were never bestowed upon my mother in reference to me. But rather it was "Boy isn't she smart." or something like that. As I said I'm always shocked because I just don't see myself that way.

31. Happens all the time
I used to hate being called that(macho immaturity on my part) cause I thought it was better to be called handsome. Now that I am sick, I am grateful to the woman who calls me that.

Once it was two womwn having a discussion right in front of me about it. Didn't really know what to say.

Go with it. It's always nice to be noticed.

32. I was tellering in the drive-up window of the bank where I used to work,
this was about six years ago. The woman I was helping keyed the mike and said to me: "You look YUMMY!"

I kinda blushed, hemmed and hawed and said: "Well, thank you".

Cool as ice; that's me.

33. Three hotties invited me in for noon iced tea
I was doing landscaping in the hot sun and went in for cold tea and they started playing "afternoon delight" on repeat during the visit.

What were they trying to tell me?
