Saw the statue of Sam Houston on I 45 in Huntsville. Read Texas history. Sam must be rolling in his grave:(

1. I'm sure he is as well, my dear liberaltrucker!
* has dishonored Texan and American history more than any other citizen on record.

It is horrifying, and a real shame....

2. My big regret...
is that there wasn't a place to park my rig and take a pic. The statue is impressive, to say the least.

6. That statue...
I drove through there at 3 AM once- That's when I saw it then for the first time. It scared the shit out of me.

7. It'll do that..at night
Just read up on Texas history. Sam was, by our definition, a liberal. Check it out.

10. Take a friend with you...
I went down with a friend for the state convention in 2004, and managed to grab a pic on our way back.

It wasn't night time, but he scared the crap out of me too! Just came out of nowhere!

3. Damn. You've got me aching to do the Texas tour soon.
I think I'm heading to Port Arthur next week. Just to visit my relatives who were affected by Rita. I'd like to go spend a week just seeing the old sites I miss.

9. one Texas friend remarked that, if Sam ever came back ...
...Bush would run away and lock himself in the executive washroom.
