I'm sick & tired. I'm frustrated, and I'm pissed.
But I can't quite articulate why in any meaningful way at the moment.

So for now I'm just going vent and say that other than 8 years of Bill, my whole life has been lived with a republican president fucking things up for everybody, and I'm really, really fucking sick of it.

There are other things I'm really sick and tired of, but if I don't take some time to chill out and think about them more I'll end up starting some awful flame war that I didn't intend to start. And I'm too tired for that right now too.

As always, thanks for letting me vent. :loveya: to the lounge.

1. Hope you feel better soon
I had three years with Carter, but I don't remember them.

2. Thank you. I do too.
I had a good 9, 10 months of Jimmy. Something like that. But it may as well not count since I can't remember it.

4. That's what Republicans don't seem to understand.....
Or maybe they do and they're just evil pricks:

When you vote Republican, you make things harder for everybody, not just liberals.

I can understand that they want to get revenge on liberals for the 60's. It's stupid and petty, but I get it: we were in power, and they didn't like it, and now it's their turn, yadda yadda yadda....but in their desire to "get back" at liberals, they end up making life harder for just about EVERYBODY except CEOs. It's like doing a drive-by shooting with a dirty bomb.

5. You just touched on something that falls into that

"other things I'm sick and tired of" category I mentioned.

I'm beyond sick and tired of being caught in the stream of this decades long pissing contest. It's fucking ridiculous.

(Unfortunately I haven't chilled out enough yet to make this a coherent point).

6. Exactly.
The entire GOP platform can be summed up in four words: "REVENGE FOR THE SIXTIES." Nothing deep, no plan on how to make humanity progress, nothing done to help those who need it the most, just balls-out REVENGE fantasies.

It'd be almost hilariously pathetic if it weren't for the fact that they're in control of everything.

7. Yep. But you know what, I'm pissed at both sides of this right now.
Infinitely more pissed at the GOP and their little minions--hands down, no question. Their bullshit "the adults are in charge" posturing, their gimme gimme gimme and fuck you attitude--Look, I'm sorry they were squares. I'm sorry they were somehow repressed when everybody else seemed to be drugged up and fucking in the streets. I'm sorry they stocked up on Pat Boone records and polyester and I'm sorry for whatever the hell happened to them that turned them into the sniveling playground bullies they are. I don't care what it was, really. I'm just tired of their daddy issues, or their teenage insecurities, whatever it is, manifesting itself in their policies that leave me with, oh, I don't know, no health care whatsoever. Or with them sending kids--my friends--to die so they can get a little bit richer and feel a tiny bit better about their "endowments."

And I'm a little tired of the question on our side, "How do we appeal to apathetic young people?" getting answered with "draft 'em." Thanks guys. Thanks a million.
