Poll question: Seriously, can I have a show of hands of who is skipping the Bush thingie
Personally I find no purpose to watch the speech tonight other that feasibly playing one of the many SOTU drinking games but I have to work on Thursday and I don't think I'm up for a round of alcohol poisoning.

Who else is skipping it tonight

There's not enough booze on this planet
for me to be able to stomach that lying, smirking, evil little twit.

So-- No!

8. Lol. I just used those very words to describe the experience.
"Not enough booze in the world to deaden the pain" is I think how I put it.

However, if I wasn't going to work I'd be watching it because, apparently, I need a searing, burning, writhing, aching pain in the ass once a year to keep me alive. Or something.

It's a good thing you limit it to one day!

just to let you know, that when i die, my being will be whooshed to washington into the body of gwb and he will turn into a liberal who will immediatly bring back all the troops from iraq, turn himself in for all the wrong he did and rat on the rest of the neocon asshats. oh and he will immediatly make december 26th a national holiday as it is the day after jimmy buffets birthday (dec 25th is someone else a little more important)and he is a national treasure.

btw, i will have to make a trip to your area at some point just to go to the doghead fish (i think that is the name) brewery.

I studied Rhetoric in college so watching anyone (particularly the President) mangle the English language the way he does becomes incredibly excruciating after about 5 mintues.

And besides, Illinois is playing at Wisconsin tonight -- that sort of trumps anything else that might be going on!

It hadn't even occurred to me that the SOTU was on earlier on the west coast (duh, I know) until I noticed my Tivo wasn't getting the afternoon Simpsons and I tuned in just in time to hear "Brave men and women in the armed forces are fighting house-to-house" and I said I just can't do it.

I want to go back to the 2004 debates, where Bush got trounced and I could watch and enjoy it without a little piece of me dying inside.
