Very interesting reading here. Regarding the BFEE's plan for
getting re-selected.

I have been saying for a while I dobut we will have elections in 04, seems like there is lots of action towards that end.

FROM THE ARTICLE...

The same theme was touched on in the Outlook section of the Washington Post, the main daily newspaper in the US capital, in a column published Sunday, November 23, under the headline “Terrorist Logic: Disrupt the 2004 Election.”

The author was David J. Rothkopf, a former Clinton administration official now at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a major Washington think tank.

Rothkopf outlines the possibility of a terrorist campaign of suicide bombings during next fall’s election campaign that leads to a full-scale military mobilization. “History suggests that striking during major elections is an effective tool for terrorist groups,” he writes.

As a representative of the Democratic wing of the ruling elite, Rothkopf is clearly concerned that such an event would profit the Bush administration. He cites examples such as the Israeli elections in 1996, when suicide bombings contributed to the victory of right-wing Likud candidate Binyamin Netanyahu, and the 2000 Russian elections, won by Vladimir Putin after a series of bombings in Moscow and other cities—attributed to Chechen terrorists but widely believed to have been carried out or at least permitted by Putin’s KGB.

1. That makes a lot of sense.
What better way for Osama bin Laden to harm America than by helping to keep this bunch in the Whitehouse?

2. If one can try to think as a terrorist....
Why would they WANT to do something they know will ensure Bush's reelection? Do they not care at all, who wins? I'm certainly not implying they would thing a Dem administration would end the "war on terror," but they surely must have some personal grudge with Bush and not want him to succeed... Thoughts, anyone?

4. No, they don't have a grudge against BFEE...
How do you think they got their funding?

No, they can do business with BFEE, they want them in charge. How much of the "war on terrorism" has really affected terrorists?
Answer... not much. They still do what they want, when they want, where they want from the freedom of Saudi Arabia.

3. we need some democratic pundits out there
saying that the goal of terrorists is to strike terror into the people, and to disrupt normal life. So if we were to cancel the elections in the face of a terrorist attack, it would be tantamount to letting the terrorists win. We can't let "them" undermine our democracy, for to do that would be admitting defeat.

5. Problem with that is, seems to me, the terrorists have already
won. Take a look around. Ask people questions about it. They are all terrorfied already.

8. People need to remember one important thing.
This administration has actively stonewalled the 9/11 investigation. We, as a nation, have not been allowed to understand the root cause of this event. If we cannot know this, how can we protect ourselves from the next "event".

Every Democrat ought to make a huge issue about this now, and go on record that the majority of Americans will not accept a Bush dictatorship if such an event happens. Any honorable person would resign the office for letting 9/11 happen....this man profited from that and will try to get his wish to be dictator.

If you were, at the very least, indirectly responsible for the tradegy of 9/11....wouldn't you do everything possible not to be held accountable for your actions?

9. We don't need no stinkin' election!
I don’t think they will risk having an election. One party would need an obvious landslide to succeed. This country is so polarized, that a close election could result in civil war. Fascists hate elections anyway. Why would they allow it?
