Ok, I have an entire album mp3 that is one complete file. What I mean is that there is no track distinction. It is one long track. In another thread there "johnnie" said something about being able to set cues in CoolEdit. So I converted the mp3 file to a wav, set all the cues as per track, converted back to mp3 and it is still one long track. So I'm wondering is there a way to distinguish each individual track within a single file with CoolEdit. Normally I would cut and past each individual track to file and then convert each one individually to burn, and it's a lot of work. Any CoolEdit pro's out there that can help?

1. I think that cutting and pasting to a new file is the best, and |
|
safest way to do it. Cues never did work right for me.

2. It may work if you burn it from a wav file |
|
and don't convert back to mp3 before burning. It may be that would only work if you were burning with the same program used to set the cues though...

You have to set each cue between songs, then one at the end of the file and one at the end. Then you have to open the cue list (veiw, show cue list). You will see all your cues. Highlight them all and click "merge". After they are merged you click on "batch". Then you will have to save them to another file. It seems a bit much, but once you do it all the first time. it gets easy. I left the site addy in the other post for you. They use to have a great video tutorial on the old site, but I couldn't find it on Adobe's site.

open the big wav file and cut and paste the individual tracks into separate files. after that you can burn it to cd or rerip it to mp3.

On a live file...say a concert, if you chop them up, it would have a 2 second space between tunes. If you use cues, you get to hear it without the silence and also can choose the tunes on your cd player.
