How many DUers click off the news as soon as they hear Michael Jackson's
name mentioned or Laci Peterson?
I do. And believe it or not I just had to click off two news stations a Noon today, on a Saturday...they are still reporting on Micahel Jackson.
Sighhhhhhhhhhh

8. You and I could watch the news together comfortably
Any story about the above gets an automatic channel-change from me.

3. A different approach
I keep the news on mute, and only turn on the volume when there is something I want to hear. Needless to say, it is silent in my house as I type this. Although yesterday I did spin a CD by Spearhead during the entire newscast.

We can bomb the world to pieces

But we can't bomb it to peace.

Works for me.

10. Sidebar:
"We can bomb the world to pieces but we can't bomb it to peace" was on the signboard of a Lutheran Church in our neighbourhood a couple of months ago.

I was floored, and actually took the time to phone them and commend them on their choice of quotes (every now and then they have something as 'in your face' peace-related, but more often than not it's the usual "God accepts Knee-Mail" kind of fare).

Seems MSGOP is becoming all-MJ-al-the-time.

This isn't news..........it's tabloid journalism at its worst!

6. I'm proud to say I have no idea what the Peterson thing is about
all I know is the guy is accused of killing his wife. Unfortunately, that's not a rare thing in this country, so I don't know why this story is special.

14. The Laci Peterson story is "special" for the same exact
reason that Jessica Lynch was "special" when Soshannah Johnson barely merits a mention...

THEY ARE BLONDE and ARYAN...

One was pregnant and about to give birth to another blonde Aryan.

Many women are killed or severely injured by their husbands/boyfriends during or immediately after pregnancy. Some men find it difficult to view their wives as sexual after they get pregnant or give birth. I think it's the mommy thing.

9. Yes
It's all cheap, styrofoam packing material filler, least common denomiator, ratings-grabber news without substance. Usually the only news I watch on TV is Now with Bill Moyers, Frontline, and occasionally BBC News.

13. I click the news off or change the channel
when I hear the following:
George Bush
Michael Jackson
Scott Peterson
Kobe Bryant
Sports
Cutesy/human interest stories that are not really news.

I pretty much watch only the weather.
