My dream last night was that I'd figured out EVERYTHING.
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 08:10 PM by Sugar Smack
It was amazing. Simpler than Ockham's razor. Maybe I died momentarily and saw the light. Who knows? But it was all there; it was like my mind was a computer chip solving social and economical and ecological matrixes so fast that it seemed I could do anything.

Now, there were a few confusing visuals. I remember seeing DS1's red button. In another part of my dream, swag breezed through in slo-mo, carrying a briefcase and wearing a suit. His tie was flapping in the wind, and Portishead was playing in the background.

And then, when I woke up, *ffffft* all the things I'd figured out were gone. :o

*shit*

5. I swear, when I woke up some of it lingered,
but only some, only the visuals. Do you ever have that happen?

Maybe I should keep a notebook beside my bed. :D

2. I had a very cool dream last night too
I don't remember much, but I had a very good feeling when I woke up.

Maybe if you're nice I'll tell you all about it!

7. Oh, REALLY?
HOW nice? Do you remember all the silky details? Or did those cats do a number on you? I heard cats can influence dreams! Mine took me straightaway out of mine when she landed on my solar plexus this morning. This is all her fault. :loveya: :hi:

3. Strange.. I had a dream that I was completely lost last night..
I had a dream that I went to live with my friend Ada in Brooklyn. I hopped on the bus and landed at the Port Authority bus terminal in Manhattan to discover I left her number at my house in Oregon. She didn't know I was moving in with her so I freaked out (plus I didn't have her number). I was wandering around confused and cold. It was odd.. I was wandering around the lower east side for hours knowing everything was wrong. It was just a vast expanse of industrial buildings. And I knew how to get to her apartment. I was just scared of going. And it was one of those dreams that seemed like it lasted for hours but I was only asleep for about 10 minutes. According to the snooze button.

8. Those are CRAZY, aren't they?
Between hitting the snooze button, I wonder where the hell I'll end up for the next 10 hours. I swear, one morning, between hitting the snooze button, I dreamt I shot Eminem, and it was an EPIC dream, and so detailed.

Or David Blane, for that matter. :o

As Scarlett O'Hara said, "Tomorrow is another day". I just love me some Scarlett.

10. Oooh, did you take notes?
Once, I ate a very special cookie designed by my next-door neighbor. Reefer-chip, I think. Anyway, I was halfway into scarfing the thing down when I noticed I was BRILLIANT. So I took out my notebook (no easy task, falling out of my chair) and recorded my profound thoughts. The next day, I really, really tried to comprehend them. It would have taken a professional, believe me. It looked like gibberish.

I wish you had enough vacation time to join me in an adventure this sumer.
Perhaps you could come along for part of my trip.
I've decided to do a cross country ride on my trike.

32. Your trike!
"Hey, there, little lady. Pretty fancy trike ya got there. You know how fast you were going, Missy? You passed 75 a ways back. You're a danger to my precinct. Say, you remind me of someone, some movie star. Who was it. You got beautiful eyes, let me tell you. Could you remove your helmet so we can see yer pretty blonde hair? You are a nice one, I tell you. Tell you what I'm gonna do. I'll let you off with a slap on the wrist if you may be so kind as to give this humble sherrif your phone number..."

*That I could be with you when this happens*

23. Do you remember which song it was? Time for a lyric dissection.
I was thinking about Beth Gibbons the other day, wondering if her solo stuff was any good, but that's all the more Portishead my life has been lately.

Maybe I should plop some Portishead in the player tonight.

33. *sniff* I've dreamt about you, dear billyskank,
We were sitting across from one another and we had a coffee milkshake spiked with kaluha. Two straws, and a wrought-iron table underneath. There was a doily under the glass. Were were looking at each other, sipping the shake, and people were taking pictures of us.

:D

21. In Bertrand Russell's autobiography, he tells the story of a friend
of his who would intoxicate himself with nitrous oxide, and then emerge from the stupor proclaiming, "I have figured out the secret of the universe."

And of course his friends would ask him what the secret of the universe was, and the huffer could never remember.

So they persuaded him to keep a pencil and paper handy so he could write down the secret the next time he got messed up on nitrous. And on that next nitrous bender, he wrote down the secret of the universe, which turned out to be

"THE SMELL OF GAS PERMEATES EVERYTHING."

There you have it.

I tried. Same exact make & model of the button on your avatar, too. And the thing kept eluding me. That part was at the very end. Then my cat jumped on my solar plexus and woke me up.

Well, I used that as a dip for tortilla chips. It was delicious! And probably a catalyst in fucking with my head last night.

I've been able to record some dreams, but the ones that actually tell me something great- they leave.
