I keep getting calls from the fax machine. |
|
Apparently, somebody tried to send a fax to an area code that's the same as my extension number, and they didn't put the 9-1 before the number like they're supposed to. So, the damn VoIP management system thinks they're sending the fax to my extension.
I'm getting 5 tries in a row, every hour, and I can't figure out how to cancel the job (or even who to blame). The IT guy is busy putting out a more important fire, and can't help yet.
This isn't horrible, just annoying, and very bizarre.

3. If you have caller id, create your own fax and write on there |
|
"Stop faxing xxx-xxxx as it's not a fax machine, dammit" and fax it to them.

If not try *69 and do a reverse phone number lookup. Call the company. I had a company doing that to me for a month, finally got in touch with them and it stopped.

6. It's my company -- right in the building. So I know where it's coming from |
|
Caller ID says "Fax -- Front Line," in fact. I just can't figure out how to make it stop.

8. can you forward it TO a fax machine? then it will have finished its job |
|
when it's connected.
I used to have to do that when someone would send me a fax accidently on the voice line. I'd just forward it to the fax machine, problem solved.

9. I will do that next time and see what happens. |
|
Problem is: It's a fax going out of THIS building; I have no idea of its destination. But I suppose I could get the message across and make it stop.
