Some days are really strange...
At about 2:45 this morning, there was a fire in my apartment building. Not too serious,no one hurt, but everyone had to go outside and stand around for about an hour. Finally, the firemen said that we can go back inside. It's now about 4:00,but I return to bed hoping to go to sleep. A few minutes later, there is a shrieking, crashing sound outside....an accident, right in front of the building. More sirens, flashing lights, thankfully no one hurt. Around 5:00,I decide to just make some coffee...sleep isn't happening just now. My hand slipped filling the carafe, and now I have shattered glass to clean up..and NO coffeemaker. Right about that time,a drunk calls and insists on speaking to Sarah. I tell him he has the wrong number, and hang up. After 3 more calls from him,I unplug phone. Later on,I went out to the mailbox and slipped on the ice....I didn't hurt myself, but happened to fall on a little pile of dog poop. This afternoon, the maintenance man came by to shut off the gas while they worked on another apartment(due to the fire). As he was getting up from working on that,he managed to knock my DVD player onto the floor and crack it. About a half hour ago,as I was peeling potatoes,I managed to poke my hand with the peeler. Then there was a knock at the door. It was two young Mormon gentlemen.....and now I think it's time for a glass of wine:)

2. I feel your pain. I've had days like that.
Don't have just one glass of wine. Drink the whole bottle. You deserve it.

3. good grief!
And I thought my day was rough, just from having to do some unexpected extra stuff at work.

Careful with that corkscrew when you open the wine....

6. Drink two - there are days like that. The consolation
is after this is over you'll have some peace and quiet for awhile.

7. Thanks. I think I just got your mormons.
I wasn't very nice to them, either.

8. Neither was I!
I said,"This is really a bad day for this, boys" and shut the door. I didn't slam it,which I consider my accomplishment for the day:)These terribly sincere (but totally lacking in humor),buttoned-down young men are just...tedious:(

9. Tedious indeed. I told them I was busy, which should've been obvious
with a fork in my hand, the smell of dinner cooking, and little kids hanging off me, but they tried to keep talking anyway even after I shut the door!
