they are like nails on chalkboard to me. My kids like them though. I have gotten used to Lazy Town, at least it has a good message behind it.

6. Yep. Have you heard the cauliflower song?
I have a kid whose liking for children's shows coincides directly with their degree of obnoxiousness.

13. isn't it odd how many kids shows are so surreal?
I mean, even Steve in Blues Clues lived in somewhat of a drug-induced- looking reality. Or
even this:

Maybe it's good we never had cable.

Another production of the Bad Acid Trip school of Children's programming.

incredibly corporate. I saw one show, and it totally smacked of a promotion, like they originated as a time-waster for the kiddies at Disneyland, and someone saw their positive gate receipts and said, "You know what we need? You guys on the tube!"

21. Sportacus is hot, which trumps freakiness. Plus, it's Icelandic.
Watching foreign shows always makes me feel a little insane.

Doodlebops is just....wrong. I too just became aware of that....very strange. :scared:

22. Oh SHIT. This thing isn't in Brazil yet, but my 4yojust saw that image.
Now she's transfixed, and didn't want me to scroll down to write this!

Lazytown is the scourge of me. And she considers it a personal offense if I don't want to watch with her. I'm pretty sure she was Josef Mengele in her previous incarnation.

28. It can't be freakier than the best Kroft shows of the 70s!
I would say that Lidsville, The Bugaboos and HR Pufinstuff were freakier than Land of The Lost or Sigmond and The Sea Monsters. Maybe it was the better quality of the villains (CNR's Hoodoo, Billy Haye's Witchiepoo).

29. OK - I'll bite - what to they do?
My kid loves Lazytown. I personally can't stand it, but it does have a decent underlying message. In fact my kid rides her tricycle while watching so she's being entertained and exercised at the same time. But this is just a bit over the top. I'm hoping that it conflicts with something else she likes to watch, like Sesame Street.

30. Ooo, light trails! Luckily, my kids are past this stage of tv watching
:eyes: looks like a throw back to the 60's to me. Are the writers on acid, or something?

first thing I thought when I saw the pix, though, was, "Oh, their poor SKIN!!" Imagine having to put that shit on your face day in and day out. Talk about a wacky job. I assume they think it's worthwhile...

Whatever.

:hi: progmom!
