SF DU folks - best time to spend a few days there? |
|
We have some free air miles that we need to use up, and are thinking of spending 4-5 days in/around San Francisco.
Is it better to do that in the summer or fall, and what things can we do while we're there?
The last time we were in SF that was not work related was in the early 70's(!), and the mescaline took care of all our entertainment. :)
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks!

That's the big secret. Summer is the high tourist season, but the nicest weather is usually Sept-Oct.
As far as things to do, there's way too much to list. But if you're into music, I'd check and see who's playing at the Fillmore (or Yoshi's in Oakland, if you're into jazz) and maybe use that as something to help decide an exact date.

We'd actually planned on Yoshi's, but as someone who was at the original Fillmore East in NYC, I'm probably too long in the tooth for the new one. :)
Thanks for the "fall" tip - that works out better for us schedule-wise.
