Should I change my computers date to 02/06 to avoid the bug?
My virus software expired some months ago and I've been to broke to fork out for new stuff.

I have seen two warnings, one saying the virus will hit on the 3rd of the month, the other on the 5th of the month. Should I change my computers date to the 6th right now to be safe?

1. No, go download AVG Free.

On edit: uninstall the old antivirus, first.

I've been pleased with AVG and it seems less invasive than Norton.

2. Changing the date on your computer won't fix anything.

I'm willing to bet that the date you need to worry about is on whatever server you download updates from.

This is why I hate anti-virus software. I used to recommend Norton to people because they didn't charge for updates. Too bad they don't anymore. Thankfully, I can glom off the site licensed AV software from work. It's crap (McAfee), but I get the updates for free through the site license.
