Man, Driving Lexus, Steals 5 Year Old Girl's Necklace

HUNTINGTON PARK, Calif. -- Police are looking for a thief who yanked a gold chain from a little girl's neck outside a suburban Los Angeles market.

The Jan. 26 robbery in Huntington Park, Calif., was caught on a surveillance camera.

The video shows the 5-year-old girl walking out of the store sitting next to a pay phone by the store's door. She's there less than a minute before a tan or gold Lexus pulls up and the suspect gets out of the passenger side.

Without warning, the man rips the girl's necklace off, then calmly walks back to the car and leaves. The child runs inside the store, where her mother was shopping.

Police said the girl suffered a six- to eight-inch cut on the back of her neck.

The girl's name was not released.
