I can't wait until April 15th
Not because it's tax day but the statewide smoking ban goes into effect. Now I know I'll probably get flamed for this but I don't care. I went out last night and it was so god damn smokey in the bar. Ever since I woke up today, I've been congested and I can't stop coughing; I will usually be like this all day. Sorry smokers but I'm glad the ban is going into effect.

1. I understand exactly how you feel.

I do believe smokers should be provided a decent place to go have their smoke, but when in mixed company it's necessary for folks like you and those who have breathing issues to be allowed to smoke as clean air as possible.

I hope you feel better.

3. Okay,
I smoke occasionally when I go out, it's a nasty habit I know. We have a smoking ban in Minneapolis and that's okay, most bars have tried to accomodate smokers buy providing a patio with heat lamps in the winter and stuff. My issue is that if I own a bar and want to cater to smokers I can't. The government has now just put even more restrictions on what I can do with my property. I can't light up a cigarette in my own establishment, that I pay for. I think that kind of sucks.
I understand that non-smokers should be able to go out and enjoy themselves without having to breathe in smoke, but there are plenty of bars that chose to be non-smoking even before the ban, at least in Minnesota.
