How much would you pay for a used car? |
|
Need some wheels and have been saving up; how much would a reliable user car go for? Not interested in getting a shitbox for $300; did that when I was a teenager...
Suggestions anyone?

1. It might be easier if you gave us a rough idea of what the budget is. |
|
However, used Toyotas are usually a good deal. There are a lot of them, so the price isn't too bad.

Nothing fancy; just something that is comfortable to drive and reliable...

4. I think a mid-1990s Honda Accord, Toyota Camry or Nissan Maxima |
|
would be solid choices. Just have whatever you want to buy looked at my a mechanic first.

The age, the mileage, the extras, the condition. A reliable used car could go anywhere from $500 to several thousand.

Used Saturns are cheap, safe and reliable. A late 90's S series would cost maybe 2 or 3K.

those dealer-refurbished cars. They come with warranties. But if I was looking for something reliable, the top of my list would be used Volvos. Those things run forever.

8. There is no way you could get a used car |
|
nowadays for $300. The car I have now I bought used for $11,500 5 years ago. It is a Ford Taurus station wagon. But I don't think you could buy a decent used car now for under $10,000.

That would put the mileage around 20-40K. That is the time I like to get one.
