Somebody say something cheery.
I'm feeling a bit sad, and could use a good lift.
Please?

1. Pitter-pat is considering a Presidential bid.
We're just working out wheather he qualifies according to cat years (which is different than dog years.)

Does he have your vote?

The extent of their "outdoors" time was limited to the garage. I'd leave the window down, and Roo would jump in and curl up, either in the driver's seat, or the back window. :)

I think I'm heading to bed. Gotta get more work done tomorrow.

15. Years ago was taking care of a friend's child while
Edited on Sat Feb-04-06 03:27 AM by Whoa_Nelly
she and her husband went out of state.

The little girl I was taking care of wanted to know where mom and dad were, so we got out a big map of the US.

I showed her where we were in CA, and where her parents were visiting across the country waaaaaaaay across the big Mississippi, and also showed her the town where her grandparents lived.

She looked at the map, looked up at me and said:

"But, where does Miss Issippi live?"

Does that cheer you up..maybe make you smile?

OK...then how about this?

Back when my son was three, and I was in a jazz dance troupe, I had several late night rehearsals at the theater. Being a single parent with not much money or resource at the time, I had to take him with me.

He was the darling of the backstage, always well-behaved, and tried his best to do what he was told through all the chaos and costume alterations and changes and everything else that goes on before a production.

After one of these late rehearsals, I was very tired. It was beginning to snow and I wanted to go home.

I started out to the car, and my son, tired little guy, just stood there. I told him to come with me. He still just stood there.

I was a bit cranky, and said, "Get your butt in gear!"

He started rummaging through his coat pockets, looked in his pants pockets, and looked thoroughly confused.

"What are you doing? We need to get out of the snow and in the car."

"But, Mommy," he said so sincerely and really trying to please, "I can't find my button gear! Did I leave it inside?"

Needless to say, I went over picked him up, hugged him, loved him, and felt about two inches tall for being cranky with him
