Did you like it? I got accepted there and it looks like I am going to go there.

5. I drank with some Gustavus students |
|
I recall saying "Is Gus Davis nice, or is he a dick?" a lot, but booze didn't really improve the joke.

They have a very good PoliSci dept. One of the profs there ran for state leg when I went there, defeating the notorious right-winger Alan Quist in the process. There's also a very active College Democrats organization there.
St. Peter is fairly liberal, too, and went overwhelmingly for Kerry last time. The rest of the county is pretty conservative.
In fact, the new deputy minority leader in the MN state house is a Gustie. Margaret Anderson Kelliher (Dist 60A-- DFL) and I went to a lot of the same rallies and campaign events.
It's a good place, even if it's a little apathetic and business-majory at times.

I like the sound of it, and your description upholds the other things I have heard...

I just heard today (from some fellow alums) that my favorite dorm (Wahlstrom Hall) was torn down. :( Ah well, the campus has changed a lot since I left-- that tornado a few years back basically rearranged everything.

It is a great school. St Peter is a nice town, and it is rebounding from the tornado outbreak a few years ago.

I knew a lot of Gusties back in the olden days when I was young.
I was a Cobber, myself.
