Has anyone heard how goodboy is doing?
His situation sounded really dire and I hope things are better now. Any updates would be appreciated!

3. hey
goodgirl and I want to thank each and every one of you for your kindness and generosity. IT's times like these that truly remind me how lucky I am to be a part of this great community, and how proud we should all be to call ourselves liberal.

We're still struggling. goodgirl just got a 2nd job, so she'll be pulling more income in. I haven't heard back about SSDI, or unemployment. We raised about 25% of what we needed at the time, which was amazing, to say the least, but it was only enough to get us here. We just spent the last 20.00 we had on food and goodgirl doesn't get paid until Friday. I won't be driving much longer, unfortunately. Last weekend we went to visit gooddad. He lives 2hrs away from us. Our plan was to come back on Monday, but I forgot my depakote at home, so I drove home Sunday. Around 544pm I got a ticket for 77 in a 65. Around an hour later, BANG! I was having petit-mal seizures apparrently, and I bumped an SUV from behind. I hit my head on the vanity mirror and broke it, but other than that, there was no damage to either vehicle. Nonetheless, I got another citation for Assured Clear Distance, but I have no idea what really happened. The trooper told me that some drivers and truckers called the HWY Patrol because I was all over the road. I don't remember any of it. So that's another 250.00 I have to come up with by the 8th.

Here's where we stand:

Bills Requiring Immediate Attention, In Order of Importance
BNK1 987.00 To pay off negative balance and overdraft fees.

Rent 795.00 02.05.06, Late on 02.06.05, Eviction Notice 02.07.06
FINES 250.00 02.08.06 Arrest Warrant Issued 02.09.06
INS 238.50 02.08.06 Cancellation at Midnight 02.09.06
CAR 628.00 02-11-06 Total Payoff.
TWC 267.25 02.05.06 Disconnect 02.08.06
SBC 124.00 02.05.06 Disconnect 02.08.06
AEP 172.25 02.08.06 Cannot disconnect until 03.31.06
LIFE 550.00 ASAP (food, prescriptions, gas,)

TOTAL 4012.00

But enough about us...how are you?

5. Until your seizures are under control, you do not need to be driving.
Seriously, what if you had killed or maimed someone?

8.  I'm not driving any more. I just didn't realize that what was happening
were little seizures. I would just 'blank out' for a split second, and almost be off the road.

I had no idea that you were having problems!
I'm sorry I didn't know sooner.

In New York State you aren't allowed to drive for a year following seizures. Please stop.

I don't have your mailing address handy, please send it to me in a PM.

My love to you and goodgirl. Hang in there!

9. Go to court
and ask them if you can defer payment. Pay whatever you can-even $5-as a show of good faith. Some states (and some judges) will allow you to do this. Tell him that you thought your seizures were under control and that you now know they are not. Tell him that you no longer plan to drive for now and will get rides to whatever destination you need to get to.
If you explain the situation at home (about SSDI and unemployment) but show good faith in paying even the smallest amount on a monthly basis the judge might be sympathetic. Also letting him know that you no longer plan to drive shows that you have come up w/ a solution to the reason why you got a ticket. S/he might be willing to work w/ you. Talk to the judge instead of allowing a bench warrant to be issued.

10. i don't know how i would get there. it's 50 miles away, and goodgirl
is working. I didn't tell the cop I had a seizure, or epilepsy for that matter. I thought they would take away my license immediately.

12. Call the courthouse TODAY
and explain to them that you cannot make it to court. Ask if they can continue it for next month-explain the whole no ride and you have voluntarily chosen not to drive at this time d/t a medical condition. They might continue it for another month.

13. I'm sorry to hear things are only marginally better.
I agree with the posters about getting the court costs either defrayed, postponed, or a payment plan put in place. I hear they do this all the time.

I know this is a terrible time, and I wish I could do more to help you. I know you have probably already looked into loans from family and friends. Do you think your landlord would let you pay as you go? The utility co's will sometimes let things slide a bit if you call them and tell them what's up if you have a fairly good history.

I just wish both of you the best, and hope that things will look up soon.
