8. It all comes in threes.
And it's always the good ones. The big question now is: who's next?

How's your Saturday? :hi:

10. Not me or anyone I know, I hope.
;)

Today is going well. So far I have done the following:

1. Gotten out of bed (always a good sign)
2. Gone to the gym
3. Mowed the lawn (well, the weeds anyway)
4. Showered
5. Did 1/2 of my school work for the week
6. Made a quick grocery run
7. Made two batches of hummus (regular and chipotle)
8. Made some pita chips

Now I'm relaxing. It's been a good Saturday. How about yours? :hi:

What are you, Energy itself? :yoiks:

If I did all of that in one day, I wouldn't be able to walk the next.

17. Man...hijacking a remembrance thread...how sad am I?
At any rate, a lot of that stuff didn't take too long. Matter of fact, the most time consuming thing I've done is go to the gym.

15. Nor I!
;)

Uh, well...so far it's consisted of getting out of bed around 10:30, spending a couple of hours in the La Frontera Barnes & Noble (I found this fascinating fiction book of all things - The Mercury Visions of Louis Daguerre...I should probably just go back and get it since I haven't stopped thinking of it. I just bought poetry today, Ann Sexton and Edward Lear...), put gasoline in my car, ate lunch, sketched a bit. Now, I'm out here in between doing loads of laundry, listening to Billie Holiday.

I don't know...I think I waste time rather creatively. :D

18. La Frontera!
I was just there earlier this week.

Ann Sexton is quite good, from the little bit I've seen of her work.

You've been somewhat productive. Give yourself some credit. You waste time better than I do. I just veg in front of the TV.

Oh, and sorry Midori for the

21. You could argue that she is the third.
If you count Coretta Scot King as the first, then Betty Friedan would be the third.

3. Oh, my...sorry to hear this
Betty Friedan was a pioneer in the modern day feminist movement. I'm sorry to hear about her passing. We all have a lot to thank Ms. Friedan for.

This is very sad. I guess it's time to pull out The Feminine Mystique and reread it.

Thank you, Betty, for your work for women.

19. Thats a shame
She lived a full life and I'm very thankful for women like her, otherwise my prospects would be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen. RIP

Wonder how long it will take Pat Robertson to dance on her grave, no doubt he'll bring her up at some point this week.

23. Oh, no.
How sad.

I can't wait to hear how the white male newsreaders eulogize her. (Not that I don't think white guys couldn't have respected her too--I know many can and do. I just find it an interesting cultural quirk to think about.)

Rest in peace, Betty.

24. oh no!
first Molly Yard, then Wendy Wasserstein ( the playwright) and now Friedan. That's intense. A lot of great voices for women go silent. :(

25. RIP, Betty.
My marriage counselor gave me her book. Within the year, I divorced. Betty gave me the insight to see the horizon and the courage to change course. I am forever in her debt.

I know age/health are factors but I find the recent deaths of progressives and the road our country is taking to be too damn depressing.

With Alito's appointment, feminism and women's rights may be dead as well.
