1. I was Leeroy before Leeroy was cool.
Edited on Sat Feb-04-06 10:36 PM by Benfea
I have a tendency to raid and PvP while completely naked (no armor). I also like to jump into the lava under the Great Forge in Ironforge (a few always follow me in... copycats!).

Here's a picture of me doing part of the Onyxia quest chain. Obviously, I died shortly after this screenshot was taken.

Yes, I'm attacking dragons with a fishing pole. ;)

6. Alleria... sort of.
At the moment I'm on break from the game while I care for my mom. In a couple of months I'll be back.

12. lol yeah, TN is still like 128th or something lol
Opposite factions can't keep from killing each other to take on a common foe lol, all the realms are doomed :D

14. Yeah, role playing PvP
PvP with style heh. A few of us have tried truces, but they just break down by the brat PvPr's.

…then at least we know the carnage is likely to be highly amusing. ;)

If your character is ever sober, I will be very mad at you. Sounds fun! ;)

17. Actually you're 111th, with 50% complete.
According to the official stats, anyway, but they don't update on weekends.

My server, Malfurion, is 105th. It's a new server; only been online for a couple of months. Older servers have plenty of high-level players who don't mind spending hours gathering resources. IIRC, TN is pretty new, too.

It's all fine by me that it's taking so long. With any luck, I'll get my warrior up to level 60 in time for the Big Event.

19. Oh wow, we've moved up!

It's sad I admit, my server isn't new. Horde and Alliance just can't get together to do anything unless it's killing each other. I play a dwarf so it will be a cold day in the Great Forge before yeh see him workin with the likes of an orc. hehe :D

4. I've never once played WoW.
Nor do I have any desire to.

I just like Leroy's mentality:
Screw the consequences -- "least I ain't chicken."

Plus, I'm drunk at the moment. :D

7. Best MMO video ever.

I play a different MMO, and I've always been the "eager" one - but I've never done anything quite that dumb. :)

9. You know that video was staged, don't you?
You're not familiar with the game, but the strategy they were discussing before the disaster happened was completely, hilariously unworkable.

The concept of the video was to make fun of raiding guilds that take raiding a little too seriously.

18. Granted.
But even if they'd had a proper strategy, what Leeroy did would still be the epitome of Wrong. That's why it's so funny.

22. What Leeroy did wasn't wrong.
For some of us, the goal of "fun" is more important than the goal of "win." *points up to the picture of me hitting a dragon with a fishing pole*

21. "to make fun of raiding guilds that take raiding a little too seriously"
Sigh... Unfortunately, my wife lives that reality, she got me hooked on the game, but almost as soon as I hit 60, and definitely when I did some raiding with the uber leet guild of hers that I joined, the game became tedious to me, seemed too much like work, and I basically quit playing. She never seems to tire of raiding with the guild, very much the scenario the Leeroy vid makes fun of...

I haven't deleted my 60 rogue yet, but I'm in the process of getting rid of my stuff and then I'll make an opposite faction character and level it up. That's the only fun I see in the game for me now.

23. You should see the people I raid with.
My guild is way too small to tackle Molten Core, Onyxia's Lair, or Blackwing Lair on our own.

So we joined a guild alliance.

This isn't one of those alliances that are a collection of 3 or 4 largish guilds banding together for the purpose of raiding. The United Guilds of Alleria is a constantly changing roster of around a dozen very small guilds. The member guilds are the quintessential "casual guilds," and we are proof that there is no conflict between "casual gamers" and "hardcore gamers," we are proof that the endgame content is accessible to everyone.

We are not hardcore and organized like the big raiding guilds. Getting our bunch through Molten Core is more like herding cats, often with comical results. Just because we laugh at people who make mistakes instead of yelling at them, don't think we can't get the job done. We've got Ragnaros on farming status and are making headway in BWL despite the fact that we're working with the biggest possible disadvantage: the lack of organization and coordination that comes with a constantly rotating roster and members who goof off and lob quips constantly. We get lots of "purple lewts" every week, but we still make sure we have fun while we do it.

25. That's damn good if you guys can keep that fun attitude and still succeed.
There was precious little of that in my old guild, who I considered basically a bunch of nerdy digital loot whores. Not only that, the raids were run over TS/Ventrilo by an obnoxious jerk. I'm twice the age of many/most people playing WoW and I don't need that crap in my spare time.

Their guild did improve in that they got rid of the jerk running the raids, it looks much more civil from what I see when my wife plays now.

I guess if I had more real life friends playing it might be more interesting for me.

26. Bah. Teamspeak is where we do our best horsing around.
Raid chat is strictly for tactical stuff. The /say channel and Teamspeak are for insulting each other. Teamspeak is only used for tactical matters in extreme emergencies.

10. Ask him to download the video so you can watch it.
Even if you don't understand a thing about the game, it's really funny.

Oh, and those are not bats, they're baby dragons.

As in, Leeroy missed the strategy session because he was getting his supper ready at the time.
