We may go this summer, or, better yet, just after Labor Day.

1. I'll ask my brother. He goes there, like 3 or 4 times a year.
Be forewarned, he has terribly expensive taste, so whatever he suggests is probably going to be pricey.

He and I are so little alike.

2. Thanks, Buddy.
I appreciate that. Pricey might not be so pricey "off-season."

15. Okay, my bro and his partner said "The Brass Key" is the place.
And then, I went and lookeded up their site:
http://www.brasskey.com/

They said it's awesome, with a wine and cheese hour, etc. Those boys have taste, so I'd trust 'em...

Hope it helps.

3. You might also get a Damron's guide
Edited on Sun Feb-05-06 11:09 AM by terrya
Damron's puts out a guide for men and women. It lists bed and breakfasts, bars, restaurants in different cities throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. It's really a great guide when you're travelling. And certainly, Damron's will have a BIG listing for Provincetown. :-)

I've never been there, Bertha. I envy you. :-)

14. It's a good resource.
If I travel, I like to know the places to go. Several years ago, I was sent to Charleston, SC for work. I took my Damron's with me. And the Saturday I was there, I consulted my Damron's and went to one of the bars nearby...I had a great time, talking to some of the guys there. We were watching "Auntie Mame" on the television there...so, it was fun. :-)

:hi:

4. Oh shit, the V's are hittin P-Town!
:D

No advice on where to stay, but I think you're gonna like it - you don't get much more progressive, and specifically out, than P-Town

9. Very, very nice, God. Great suggestions.
Denny's Emmy? Wouldn't be Dennis Franz, would it? LOVE him. ;)

Of course it's not. But do tell.

10. Stay on the outskirts.
B&B's are a good way to go because they are right down town and you can walk around. You can't drive on P-Towns main street because it is narrow and loaded with drag queens and gaping tourists. Race Point has some motels, but you'd have to check with the Chamber of Commerce, because I forget whcih ones they are.
Rent some bikes to get around while your there. Lost of little restaurants and great clubs.

Have fun. It's totally unique and you'll love it there.

12. A couple family members were up in Cape Cod a few years ago...
and they visited Provincetown just to check the place out, lo and behold they were actually having a gay pride parade the day they came. Of all the days to visit they had to walk into a big cliche' but they enjoyed themselves and had a great day.

16. When I went for "Womens' Week" last year
I stayed at the Sandcastle Resort. Some friends of mine have a Timeshare there and I rented a Suite. It was roomy, renovated and clean, although older. It's just over the Truro/Provincetown line in Provincetown, so you'd have to drive into the downtown area. However if you want to save some money it's worth it.
