How do you make a puppet? Seriously
For the love of God does anyone know how to make a puppet? My daughter has to make a puppet of Harriet Tubman and it's due on Tuesday. I don't think I'm going to pass 4th grade. Crap.

3. Well, what kind?
The kind on strings, the kind on a stick, or one you can fit over your hand?

11. If you have a choice, make the kind you fit over your hand.
Way easier. You can start with a sock and you just have to decorate it. Papier-maché head, cloth arms, some thin cloth for clothes and you're good.

5. Well, you can use a sock or a paper bag and go from there.

8. Thanks for the link
Apparently the other kids have Martha Stewart for a Mom and they are making very "cool" puppets. My poor child is stuck with me and that sucks for her.

6. How about using a brown sock and pasting yarn for
hair and plastic eyes?

7. Behold the Harriet Tubman Puppet!

My name is Beth Chase and I am the assistant librarian at the Jefferson Elementary School in Jefferson, NH. This year, as a teaching aid for Black History Month, I made to puppets in the images of Martin Luther King, Jr.and Harriet Tubman. MLK spent the day in the second grade classroom while the teacher taught her class about him. I wrote a play based on several little snippets of information from the internet and children's books about Harriet Tubman that actually told the story of her life and performed that for the children. I would like to share my story and puppet pictures.

Now how to make it:

You can get this pattern by email, looks like it's pretty easy to make.

I think they email you a PDF with a printable paper pattern.

13. Thanks I just ordered it.
I have a feeling by the end of this project I'm going to dislike puppets.
