23. I'll have to try harder this year
Last season my goal was not to watch a single pitch. A very difficult task since I work in sports statistics and frequent Las Vegas sportsbooks. I managed for a couple months then job requirements consulting one particular sportsbook during the day did me in. At least I didn't watch a single half inning all year. That would have been truly unbearable, witnessing group loitering for 8 or 10 consecutive minutes.

35. LOL!
Crossing the border into Canada in the wee hours, on our way to SoccerBowl 1981. Told the border guard why we were coming and he scrunched up his face, thought real hard for a minute, and then he said, " Ah, de game wid de big puck, eh?" ( Imagine thick French Canadian accent) We cracked up. :-) One person's excitement is another person's supreme boredom.

48. Mostly I just like the World Cup because....
…I only have to pay attention to it for a few months every four years. I simply don't have enough interest in sports to become a real fan who watches games multiple times a week every week, year after year. I would have to spend less time posting on message boards and less time playing computer games to make that happen, and there's simply some things I won't give up.

;)

Won't be long now. First Giants game is on radio March 2. :woohoo:

Wish I could get Dodgers spring games on the box, but MLB Audio doesn't start until the regular season. :evilfrown:

Maybe if I put an antenna on a 5,000-foot tower I could pick up KFWB.

Truth be told, I'm pretty leery of folks whose entire wardrobes and home furnishings seem to consist of stuff with their team's logo. And when Tommy Lasorda talks about "the Big Dodger in the Sky," I just :eyes:.

He talks about the Big Dodger in the Sky, and he's said many times that he wants the Dodgers' schedule on his tombstone so he can keep working for them even when he's dead.

I admire his devotion, but he takes it to a bit of an extreme.

Edit: I like makin' you laugh, though. :pals:
