Things you have TOO MANY of
I have 3 beds and I live by myself in a ONE bedroom apartment. OK, one of the beds is actually a sofa bed, which is primarily used as a sofa...but still.

I have four dressers and they are all full. The really sad part, the clothes I actually wear seldom make it into a dresser.

Knives - and none of them are any good.

Christmas music - I went through a period where I couldn't help myself - I just had to buy it. I think I have about 30 CDs. Oh, and I spent under 1 hour listening to any/all of them this past year.

And you...

27. Frilly things!
For some silly reason I seem to think I need matching bras and panties. I've gone on a lingerie shopping spree over the past few years. Now I have things that still have the tags on them. I really don't think I need to buy anything else for a while.

7. just what I could say
except that right now, I have way too many posts without replies.
I have thousands of books from my former bookstore. I have given many away, but kept alot of stuff I have no intention nor time to ever read. Just in case I want to start another store. Plus I had a box of brand new books which two stores would not take. And I had two new books that I paid $9.60 for. I donated them to a Discovery shop and told the manager to put $10 on them. She put $5 on them instead and sold one of them in one day. Gave it away is more like it, for half of what I paid wholesale. Someone would have bought it for ten in probably less than two weeks time, but if not, it could always be lowered to $5.

12. One can never have too many books
Well, I suppose one can. I had to get rid of several boxes of them in preparation for my upcoming move but in general terms there is no such thing as too many books, just too little space.

75. I suppose that's true
I got rid of all of my old text books recently. As much as I liked them, I had to realize they really were of no real value any more (some of them were 15 years old or older). I also trashed lots of books I'd read and realistically determined I was not likely to read again (or at least any time soon). It was hard for me, as a bibliophile, but it was necessary.

4. Scraps of paper
ATM slips, store receipts, dry cleaning tickets, old utility bills, notes on Post-Its, business cards, letters from people, stuff I printed out from websites for reference, unfinished stories, half-finished sketches, pieces of paper with scribbling I obviously thought was imporant enough to write down but not important enough to note what the scribbling regarded.

My apartment is a fire hazard.

eating utensils (my grandmother's silver, my silver, stainless and others) I have to get out of that Norman Rockwell large family mindset. Mine's all over the country and unless my daughter's home from college, it's just me.

Also, and this is really embarassing. I've got too much food. My freezer's full and so is the pantry and I won't eat it before it goes bad. Shamefull. Really.

80 dresser caddies
70 Animal Wire Letter holders
100's of board games
15 dinnerware patterns
75 plaster wall fish
50 Asian Figurines
2 1958 Oldsmobiles
dozens of canister sets
tons of pottery
1000's of LP's
2 jukeboxes (down from 5)
Collection of vintage BBQ stuff (aprons, mitts, trays, etc.)

37. Oh, dear, several things
1. Shoes. I have a shoe thing. I cannot walk past a shoe store especially if it has a "sale" sign anywhere near it. I have at least 10 (down from over 30) pairs of pretty shoes. And the funny thing is, I generally wear one of two pairs - my work shoes or my sneakers. It's a disease.

2. Rocks. Yes, rocks. I can't help it. I'm always seeing pretty and interesting rocks. When I was driving out here to California, I stopped to walk my dogs in Wyoming on a stretch of open range - I ended up picking up a bunch of huge pieces of rock that looked like fossils or something (I'm sure they weren't) - I practically killed myself lugging them back to the car. In my storage back in Vermont (which I will someday liquidate - yeah, right), I literally have a box of rocks. ~sigh~

3. Books but I don't really think you can have too many books. I recently got my SO to build me a bookcase for my birthday - it consists of seven tall shelves each 5 feet wide and it's full. And I have another box to go.

53. Oh boy!
I think I must have some OCD tendencies, because I tend to hoard and packrat. But there are some things I fully admit to have too many of:

Videotapes--I've been collecting tapes and recording for nearly 25 years now, so there are an awful lot of them. I'm getting a DVD recorder to help archive them onto disks, so that will allow me to dump some of them, and with all the TV shows out on videotape, it will help me even more.

Kitchen gadgets. I love kitchen gadgets. If it will help me in my efforts at both cooking and preparation, so much the better.

Towels. I'm always buying towels. I hate washing them, though!

Sheet sets. My SIL said that she and my brother have only one set of sheets for their king sized bed, and that she has to launder it all the time. I have about 10 sets of sheets, if not more. I buy them when I see them on the clearance racks, and if they come as a set ("Bed in a Bag") it means I get both comforter and sheet set at the same time.

Mugs. I collect them, though, so it's really not a problem so much as a worry that I'm going to break them. I lost a few three years ago when I moved cross country, which upset me.

That's pretty much it.

They're hard to keep up with sometimes. :) Plus they keep running into each other at the most inopportune times ("HEY! What's HE doing on MY pillow???" "HEY, that's MY bowl!!!" "HEY! Saw the ottoman FIRST!!" "HEY! STOP trying to WASH ME!!!" etc.) :D

They're all staying though. Anything else is not even an option. :loveya:

72. Refrigerators
I "inherited" two when I moved in, got two more from a tenant, got another one when one failed and bought one myself.

I'm a refrigerator tycoon, ask me anything.

74. Bottles of nail polish.
I've got a "bit" of a nail-polish color fetish, and I'm always tempted by a new color or shade, or something with glitter and sparkles. All the good intentions in the world to use up the ones I've got before I buy more, evaporate when I see a color I absolutely can't live without. And I've got a few bottles that date back 20 years, no lie. Now I try not even to look when I walk past a makeup aisle.
