2. I'm undecided b/c I've had it go both ways

and sometimes in surprising ways, too. That is to say, sometimes threads have been surprisingly popular without my expectation of that happening....and other times, I've expected popularity and they've sunk like a stone.....

17. Actually, just the opposite.

I can't tell you the number of times I started a thread that I thought would get tons of responses and it sank into oblivion (even after I had to resort to kicking it myself). On a couple of occasions I really needed some input from people and was hoping to get a variety of responses but no dice. It's weird too, because I see threads here all the time that have similar kinds of questions that get a million responses.

I guess it's just me. It's like high school all over again.

sometimes it's incredibly shallow crap and other times it's pretty deep. It just depends....

All in all, though, it's endlessly fascinating to me.

but in answer to the question, it's usually the reverse. The threads I thought would be popular sank like stones, whereas the random ones took off...like my inane bitching about anime or fraternities or asking people to interpet my dreams, or my continual finding of long blonde hairs on my bedclothes (they've changed to brunette, btw). The one exception was my "I need tips for inappropriate behavior" thread. That's was one of my most successful threads to date, but then, this is the Lounge. :eyes:

that got over 400 posts, with all the pics heavy as hell and I had to ask for a lock, because the whole thread was a few megabytes of loading.

I can remember only one other thread I started that got many responses, but this wasn't a serious one. I'd say it's quite not predictable, and it depends on the time you post it, too.
