14. Oh, I agree

I grew up on old fashioned country and bluegrass music and I loved it. Still do. But I also love rock and my father could never see any value whatsoever in any of it. He refused to accept that Neil Young's roots are very country, for instance, or that much of it was influenced by music he listened to. (though in later years, he began sneaking pieces into his repertoire - he plays guitar and sings. He even did a pretty good version of "Yesterday").

15. That was the thing about the Beatles

From about 1966 on, they defied genre. I can't imagine anyone who doesn't like at least one Beatles song.

Hell, they covered "Act Naturally," which was written by John Russell and first recorded by Buck Owens.

and to pretend that I was too sophisticated for all that type of behavior. A pretentious pre-teen, I was.
