Since I totaled mine. Any suggestions? I really LOVED my Honda Accord and may get another one, but I'd like to hear some of your faves!

1. My hubby likes his WRX
My mom loved her Honda, but I can't remember what model she had. As long as my car runs, I'm happy.

Have fun shopping!

14. Just bought a Subaru Forester myself (mostly for my dog)
Needed 4/AWD and lots of doggie room. Handles like a freakin' sports car compared to any other small SUV I drove. Voted best small SUV by car and driver magazine, excellent safety ratings and the Car Talk guys love 'em. :)

Good luck!

You can get it here http://www.gap-insurance.com/

Your insurance deductible: $500

3 dogs? You'll need a truck for that.

But one dog - a Prius will work.

Just absolutely LOVED it.

This page also shows the tc which looks fantastic as well. Worth a test drive.

and even when doing home construction and landscaping, never, ever lacked for room.

I have a nissan micra now, it's very cute as well... But I LOVED my Xa... It was the perfect new car.

I had a miata as well for those yee hah days when I needed the sun in my face and the wind in my hair.

Now that is truly the car that I miss. I should have had it shipped over here to europe. I truly regret not bringing it.

Get a wagon, so you can put the back seat down and have a ton of room. Even a small wagon has a ton of cargo space with the seat down. :)

40. If you'lll be transporting dogs and kids at the same time,
either a larger wagon or a van may not be a bad idea. With a wagon, I'd look for one that has a 60/40 split in the rear seat, rather than 50/50, because it's much more versatile when you need to haul kids and cargo at the same time. Also check to make sure there's no reinforcement bar that divides up your cargo area when the seat back is down, my wagon has one and it's super-annoying.

If I was getting a new wagon I'd look at the Mazda 5, it seats 6 (all forward facing, which is important because you can't put a car seat in the rear facing wagon seats and thier low weight limits make them useless for adults, so they're really only good for people who need to transport a crapload of tweens.) it's pretty freakin' cute, the milage is decent and all 4 rear seats fold flat independently because it has 6 buckets rather than a bench in the rear.

62. Still can't beat the Element for dogs and kids though. No carpet
so no stains. HUGE space inside, seats are not only split fold down, but will fold up against the wall or can be removed completely.

The Mazda kicks some major butt too. It's also built like a rock. A guy I work with got hit by a huge truck and it mangled the passenger side doors, but no intrusion into the cabin, and the car is still driveable while he scrapes up the money to cover his deductible.

The Element has as much leg room for rear passengers as it does for front (if not more).

I think my only complaint is that the mileage isn't as great as I'd like (average about 21-23 MPG)

My wife would buy one in a hot NY minute. The reason I didn't buy one was that the leg room was slightly not enough and I had been having problems with my hips and back as a result of owning a slightly too short in the leg Acura. The new Acura TSX's are wonderful, though pricey. We picked one up because the leg room was manageable. We love the global satellite. It's helped us out more than once. My wife is now comfortable driving into places she's not completely familiar with.

56. We just bought a Scion XB last fall and pimped it out with their "extras"
Love it, love it, love it! I was a little leery at first, but my husband talked me into it, and I haven't regretted it at all. In fact, I wish we'd bought one sooner instead of driving our old beater car around for months and months.

I have owned both a Honda Accord and a Honda Civic, and I like the Scion better than either one of them. It's extremely comfortable, fun and easy to drive, gets great gas mileage, TONS of cargo space for its size, great stereo, and was a fabulous price for everything you get on it (it comes basically fully loaded for around $15K). It's like having an SUV without all the bad parts of an SUV. Plus, it's really unusual looking so it gets lots of attention and is really easy to find in a parking lot. Fabulous car. I can't say enough good things about it. I wish we could afford another one to replace my very old Honda Civic.
