6. He was working on a roof with an electric
staple gun. One flew out and nabbed him in the sclera.... always wear safety eyewear!

7. I think he'll be okay.
He may have some long term corneal scarring. It can fixed by a laser... The next few days will not be fun of him. :(

IOP slightly elevated 24 O.D Puncture wound. Opthalmascope reveals nothing remarkable.

He'll be okay!

It was pretty wild, he was a walk in, doing construction down the street. I haven't had a triage case in a looooong time! :) It was fun!

Yes.. the rose bowl.. it is the pinnacle for me, it'll NEVER EVER be better than this!! :bounce:

12. Yikes! I once had galvanized slag from a nail head embed...
in my eye. It was no fun for a few days. The Doc did a great job of removing it.

24. I know a guy who nailed himself to the roof.
He was shingling an 'A' frame with a nail gun.
Stopped for short break and rested the gun against his thigh.
It went off and nailed a substantial piece of flesh to the roof.
He was working alone in the middle of nowhere, way before the days of celphones.
He said the hardest part was to keep from passing out until his wife drove out to see why he was late for supper.

The cells on your eyes reginerate pretty quickly. The eye is an amazing organ!

He may have some scarring that will need to be addressed at another time, this can be done easily enough with a laser.

The injury sounds god awful, but in all honesty... I have seen MUCH worse in the eye!
