My dental hygienist told me yesterday that I had "feminine" teeth. |
I did not know that teeth had a gender. I said to her: :wtf: are you talking about? And she said that my teeth were "rounded", whatever that means, and that this is apparently more desireable than unrounded teeth (I guess). Has anyone else ever heard of feminine or masculine teeth? Is there a neuter style of teeth? And why do they insist on asking you questions when they have their hands wedged in your mouth?

1. I've heard that before... |
I worked in advertising for a short while and had a client who was a cosmetic dentist. She did lots of reconstructive work, dental implants, etc. She said women's teeth tend to be more rounded and men's more angular. I'd never given it a thought before either, but she showed me lots of before and after pics of clients and there certainly did seem to be a correlation. Who knew?

2. So it actually is tied to gender, then? |
I was thinking that maybe men and women could have either masculine or feminine teeth. Who knew?

4. Aristotle thought women had fewer teeth than men. |
It never occurred to him actually to count them.
